Mannn Amon-post-Takatsuki-Sen-interview would have been a great time for him to run into Kaneki. What if he didn't take that information to his 'grave.' Hear me out: his faith in the CCG has been shaken to the core and he doesn't have anyone on the inside he can corroborate with let alone talk to. He doesn’t know how to move forward with it. and so it died with him But it wouldn't be so hard for him to believe the ghoul who’s been on a near parallel investigation has information he can corroborate with. If Kaneki can admit he was chasing down Kanou that is. Confiding in a ghoul on CCG matters may be a blow to his morals, but he’s been convinced talking to Eyepatch will help him understand the world his past ever since their first fight.

They're both in the throes of their world being upturned and are trying to pursue the truth. (Kaneki is already in the 20th ward at this point learning about V. That’s a whooole other can of worms.) Hearing the CCG side of things with Kanou / the Yasuhisas would be of interest to Kaneki.

Amon is also like. Less than a half step away from piecing together that Eyepatch was another one of Kanou’s experiments in the underground lab. He saw those bodies with identical kagunes. He saw Kurona’s kakugan. He knows what human experimentation took place. And it wouldn’t take long after to deduce he’s likely Kaneki Ken given the timeline of when & where Eyepatch first appeared. But, at this point, it’s information Amon Knows he can’t trust the CCG with.

Anyway, this is the last time in TG they'd be able to have that long-awaited conversation before everything goes to hell and they swap roles. And it would be So interesting with how much they've learned and changed as people.

To answer the question of @shewhoeatssand, here are my ships for the neki. My fav are Amoneki (due to their dynamics) and HideKane (the ship by proxy, also because Kuroneki is my fav)

AriHaise is also ship by proxy because my friend is a huge fan. You can already guess what blog caused the ReaperEto. And KingNeki x Touka for the endgame but I don't really have much thoughts about them, just like "oh they're canon"

And bonus Sasako x blue haired Touka because smh I prefer HaiseTou to KaneTou and Touka has big bisexual lean female energy to me so

The two ships that I acknowledge but not really care for is KaneRize and Shuuneki, mostly because their dynamics are not my thing.

what are your top 3 tg ships?

btw I’m @rizeenthusiast, this is my main :)

1) Shuuneki, but it HAS to be written a certain way. Preferably with Shironeki since a) he’s my favourite and b) I don’t see why Kuroneki or Haise would agree to date Shuu since Kuro would take everything Shuu does platonically and be too oblivious to Notice The Signs, while Haise wouldn’t be able to get to know Shuu too well since he’s manipulated to prioritize his work more than anything outside of it. Shiro however would probably date Shuu if he found it beneficial to him in some way and I think they could bring out the worst in eachother if they became more comfortable together. Bond over violence yk

2) Amoneki - I don’t post about them much (tbf I don’t post about anything) but every fic I’ve ever read of them has included an “omg he’s so small” from Amon and I think that’s hilarious and adorable. Any Kaneki pre-Reaper would work for this one, I saw a really cute Human Kaneki slurping ramen with Amon once and aaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!💕💕💕💕💕 SUPER cute. Closest thing to a comfort ship

3) Hidekane! this is mainly because of some really good fics I’ve read (cough cough Pathetic Fallacy changed my whole opinion of this ship). Hide is so Silly and Kaneki is so Oh No Please Don’t Do That and they understand eachother on such a deep level and realistically I don’t think anyone else would ever be able to do that with Kaneki. If we cast aside my reading and aesthetic preferences this is probably the Superior TG Ship because of how close they are together in canon so they can respond to eachother accordingly.
