(ask-hattrem) "Oh, wow! You're like royalty, huh?" Annabelle smiles at Kuno. "I'm sure someone like yourself must have access to amazing books, this must be nothing! Do you have a library back home? Are there any super rare books you have access to?"
Kuno: “ I, um, don’t really pay much attention in class, let alone the library. I-It’s kind of embarrassing... “ @ask-hattrem
Eugene: “I woke early for this event so we can both sleep at the same time tonight. Forgive me if I look a little tired throughout the festivities.”
Vinny: Wait...You can see through my disguise? I thought no one will be able to notice...well maybe except that Sylveon. But no it’s nothing permanent, atleast I hope not. A Dusknoir helped me out to disguise myself as a Rockruff so that way I can blend in and join the event. Also do me a favor and don’t tell anyone around, really wanted to keep this a low profile or that ghost listening in.
(ask-hattrem) "Oh wow! You're a Mewtwo!" Annabelle says in awe. "I heard you have plenty of stories to tell. Do you the one about the human with the long hair? My dad mentioned something like that to me once and I was quite curious - being a hattrem and all..."
"Ah, Rapunzel." Mewtwo nodded to Annabelle's question. "There are multiple versions of that story. Let's see if the one I have is satisfactory..."
Long ago, in a land close to Kalos and Galar, there was a lonely couple expecting their first child. The wife, craving a particular vegetable, which grew in the garden of a sorceress. The wife’s cravings for this vegetable was so great that she refused to eat anything else.
The husband, fearing for life of his wife and unborn child, snuck into the garden for some of this vegetable. However, the sorceress caught him and threatened a terrible curse. As he begged for mercy and spoke of why he was there, the sorceress relented, allowing him to have as much of the vegetable as he needed, on the condition she was given the child when they were born. Desperate, he agreed.
When the baby, a girl, was born, the sorceress took her and raised her as her own, naming her ‘Rapunzel’ after the vegetable her mother had craved. As time passed, Rapunzel grew into a beautiful young woman with long, golden hair. When she had grown to a particular age, the sorceress locked her in the top of a tower in the middle of the forest, with no door or stairs to reach the top. Only a window single window in the room at the top.
Every day since then, for several years, the sorceress would visit Rapunzel daily, calling from beneath the window:
Rapunzel! Rapunzel! Let down your hair
So that I may climb thy golden stair
One day, a prince riding through the forest heard Rapunzel singing from the tower. Entranced by her beautiful voice, he found his way to the tower. With no way to enter, he simply stayed and listened, leaving at night and returning each day to listen more. Eventually, he chanced to see the sorceress arrive and bid Rapunzel to lower her hair, learning how to gain access.
And so, with this new knowledge, the prince waited for the sorceress to leave. Once she had gone and he was certain she was out of hearing range, he stood beneath the tower and called up:
Rapunzel! Rapunzel! Let down your hair
So that I may climb thy golden stair
After climbing her hair to finally meet the woman whose voice he had long admired, the prince and Rapunzel fell in love. With the wish to finally leave the tower, they came up with a plan for Rapunzel to escape. Each night, after the sorceress left, the prince would return with a length of silk, which Rapunzel would gradually weave into a ladder.
Unfortunately, before the plan could come to fruition, Rapunzel mentioned to the sorceress that her dress was getting tight. Realizing that this was because Rapunzel had fallen pregnant by an uninvited visitor, whom the sorceress pressured her into revealing to be the prince. Upon this revelation, the sorceress cut Rapunzel’s hair and cast her into the wilds to fend for herself while a trap was set.
When the prince returned and called for Rapunzel to let her hair down, the sorceress dropped the severed braids to let him up, waiting until he was close to the top to reveal herself, angrily telling him that he would never see Rapunzel again.
To escape, the prince took his own knife and severed the rope of hair and jumped from the tower, trapping the sorceress alone at the top for the rest of her life. A thicket of brambles at the base of the tower broke the prince’s fall, however the thorns scratched his eyes and blinded him.
For years since, he wandered alone, trying to find his beloved Rapunzel, until, one day, he heard her song once more as she sang to entertain the children she had birthed, a son and a daughter. Rushing to her voice, they were finally reunited, and her tears of joy healed his vision. After spending time with Rapunzel and his children, the prince led his family back to his kingdom, where he and Rapunzel were finally wed and lived happily ever after.
(ask-hattrem) "Leilani, right? Look, we sorta match now!" Annabelle points to the flowers in her hair. "Does this remind you any of Alola? With all the water? I haven't ever been there myself, but I hear it's quite beautiful!"
“I know I say ‘Alola’ and stuff all the time, but that’s only because Alola is where my kind are from there. So... I don’t really know what Alola is like. All I know are the two islands - the one my tribe lived on, and the scary one I live alone on, and this isn’t like any of them. But I’d love to see Alola one day, too!”
“What about you? What kind of region are you from?”
“Well I’m a bit of a fashion designer myself, knowing what fits you best is an important part of my work. Pick what really makes you shine in the crowd, it’s what I say whenever I pick my clothes.” She advised proudly, soaking in the wave of attention.
“It helps that I know how to sew too, in fact I made this lil’ coat myself~ though I could certainly do better. My brother was a bit late to tell me we were going out, you see? So I had to make this one in a rush, such a shame.” Playing and pinching the seams of her coat, it seems she was the only one to really notice it’s minor faults.
“Oh well! I have much better examples in my catalogs tho’, if either are interested~” She giggles with excitement, it wasn’t often she got to talk about her designs, specially with strange pokemon, with most of them not even wearing clothes to her dislike. “Just look up Jade C. Designs, you’ll find me right away~”
