There was probably nothing worse than getting a migraine during a War Council meeting, not only did it make her irritable but it made it difficult to pay attention. How was she to take proper notes and present her new plans if she wasn’t at her best? Regardless of the excrutiating pain she was in, she had honestly become accustomed to the occasional pain she had received in her career as the Shepherd’s Tactician. If there was anything Atterria could do was find a way to endure through the aches even though she really wanted to yell at the arguing generals to stop shouting.
Chrom seemed to pick up on her apparent distress, and rose from his seat stating that perhaps they should take a fifteen minute recess before proceeding with any further discussions. The motion was passed and soon the tent emptied out so that only the pair remained.
“Sorry about this…” she apologized, knowing full well that he had done this for her. “I promise it’ll go away… they don’t usually last long.”
“Think nothing of it,” he replied smoothly, “I’ll go get you some water, it may help.”
“Thanks,” she answered back, closing her eyes and pulling her hood over her head before placing her head down on the table’s hard surface.
He gave a small nod and exited the tent without saying another word. In her isolation, she attempted to focus on her breathing pattern in an attempt calm herself. After a few minutes, the pain gradually began to recede. In its place, an after image began to materialize in her mind’s eye. As the fuzziness began to clear, Atterria could see her face along with Nowi’s come into view.
The pair looked extremely confused with eyes wide open and an agape mouth as they looked down at something. Atterria couldn’t see what the other version of herself and Nowi were looking at directly, which only fueled her curiosity. Was she having one of those visions again, like the one she had received long ago right before meeting Chrom? She honestly couldn’t tell.

‘Is that a baby?’ Atterria questioned, ‘did a baby really just come out of that thing?!’
‘I think so…’ Nowi added before reaching down and picking up the object of their attention. ‘Awww! He’s so cute!’
‘A baby just came out of that egg!’ the tactician exclaimed in a panic, ‘and your first thought is that he’s cute! Nowi, how is any of this normal?’
‘I came from an egg,’ she pointed out, ‘so I’m pretty sure it’s normal.’
The dream Atterria made a face, ‘yeah but… but you laid that thing almost four years ago and it never once showed any signs of life, so why now?’ She ran a shaky hand through her messied curls, ‘a baby came out of that thing! How is this scientifically possible if you never… well… you know…’
‘It’s a miracle!’ she cheered, passing the child over to the panicked tealette, ‘here! you should hold him while I go get something to wrap him in.’
“Gah! Nowi wait! I don’t want to—“ but she was gone leaving the baffled tactician to care for the squirming bundle in her arms. “… how?—erh no wait! Don’t start crying please!”

The current Atterria rose her head, her hood falling back in the process as she stared blankly at the side of the tent. Her expression resembled something similar to the one in her vision, but blinked a few times in confusion.
What was that and what did it mean?
Her thoughts then drifted to the egg that Nowi had in her tent which she had laid a few months ago after they had experimented with some of Henry’s potions. Was this some kind of premonition of what was to happen? Did that mean that the egg would eventually hatch and produce a—
“Atterria?” Chrom’s voice broke through her thoughts, “are you alright? You look awfully pale, do you need me to get a Cleric? I’m sure I can get Lissa or Libra in here right away.”
“Uh, no. I’m fine, just thinking… heh… sorry… I just have a lot on my mind.” She hadn’t even heard him come in, which was a surprise to them both, since it was unusual of her to be unaware of her surroundings. The prince nodded and offered her a canteen filled with water he had retrieved for her; she graciously accepted and took a sip from it. “Thank you.”
“Are you sure you’re going to be alright?” he asked again in a concerned tone, taking his usual seat at the table. “I can postpone the meeting to a later time if you’d like.”
“No… I’ll be fine,” she assured with a smile, “I’ll be alright. The pains gone now anyways so there’s no need to put this off any longer.”
“Alright…” he smiled back.
The rest of the members rejoined them shortly, and soon thoughts of the vision faded away to the back of her mind. The remainder of the meeting proceeded without any further interruptions or complications.
