After seeing Daniels post race interview, he looks so sad and defeated, and it just breaks my heart because he deserves to be on top but I don’t know where the problem is
tbh? there are not one but two problems (that i can relate): first is his driving style that nobody seems to understand, it’s not suitable for the car YET. lando, his own teammate is now doing an amazing job after 2 years of no podiums or poles or nothing, but ppl is obsessed with the idea of mclaren sabotaging him.
and second (and on my perspective) is his own mentality: he needs to see his family now, he needs a break from everything. the media and the toxic side of f1 (which for me are the male fans) keep going with those silly comments of “what is happening?” “he sucks because he’s old” “he’s this, he’s that”, they make me sick but he needs to rest. i can’t imagine what being away from your family for a year and half must feel. now put all of that together… just by looking at his hands you can see the stress on him.
it breaks my heart too anon, but he’s still the honey badger, he’ll be back on top soon :)
In your answer to that ask you said “just by looking at his hands you can see the stress on him” what did you mean by that?
have you ever heard about “the body speaks what we don’t?” (or smth like that), take a look at this
this pic that we were all fangirling about made me realize his state of mind. take a look to his nails… he barely has nails. have you ever been so nervious about something and then find yourself biting your nails? this is the case. also, have you ever noticed how his hands are always tensed? even when he’s walking. that’s body language.
(nothing to be alarmed, i’m someone nervious and anxious as well, just to clarify).
I also noticed that he has bruxism, (same as i, but we’ll talk about that later) all of this combined leads to the same thing: being stressed
all the constant criticism get’s inside your head at some point, what do you think it’s going on inside his head these days? and i think everyone can relate to this: when things don’t go as planned, when you fail at something you swear you studied/worked day and night for it and seems like it’s not giving you any results?
again, this is nothing to be alarmed but, just think about it…
He could still be mentally scarred after what happened since he does suffer from anxiety anyone coming up behind him could set him off and it could possibly affect his driving this weekend but people need to remember this if he does and not to be too hard on him
i can already see male fans on instagram making memes ugh… sorry i hate male f1 fans but like i said before at least they just stole the watch, i thought he was injured and he could miss the gp this weekend, but he’s okay!
I remember a few of us talking about Daniel's rough patch with McLaren and also with his personal life right now, with not being able to see his family for so long + going through a possible recent break up (also fueled by those yacht pics lol). But I guess we now have "confirmation" from his ex's side as well. She's made her instagram public where it was private before so that seems to me that they're def not together anymore and they/she doesn't have to protect her privacy that much anymore. Idk why I'm telling you this lol, I just noticed it and connected the dots I guess. Anyway, hope Daniel is enjoying his break and hopefully finds new motivation for the second half of the season.
oh really? i’m glad to hear that, good for her! he really needed this break tbh, i was watching ESPN yesterday and they were talking about him, they said “give ricciardo some time, after this break he’ll be back stronger, he’s a huge wdc material” i was like 🥺 so yes, mentally this break was necessary for him, he needs to leave this first half of the season behind and focus on what’s coming :)
So happy Daniel didn’t get a penalty 😅
yes! it’s a relief, i saw a post about him and he actually respected the double yellow flags so i was a bit relaxed. p7 baby!
He still hasn’t posted his three songs today🥺💔
knowing him (i wish i could say “personally” 😪) i think he’s taking some time off from social media or maybe he’s barking somewhere above the mountains... we’ll never know, i just hope he’s doing okay
I'm starting to dislike McLaren for the way they treat Daniel tbh. I don't know if I'm just overreacting or something but it looks to me they're not doing enough to help Daniel and just solely focusing on Lando. Daniel gets all the shit for a poor performance when in fact it's not entirely his fault.
hi lovelyyyy. okay, i won’t stop you if you don’t like mclaren anymore, it’s your own choice and i respect it! but i’ll stop you right on the part where you think they’re not helping dan.
forget about the idea that “teams choose their number one driver and they focus only on him” or whatever dts is trying to sell (trust me, i thought the exact same way a few months ago). the reality is: every teams is different and all of them have different goals and strategies. in this case, mclaren’s main goal is to remain 3rd at the constructors championship. to do that, they need both cars into the points to create a gap between ferrari and them (or just stay ahead of them). it doesn’t makes sense if they left daniel out and focused only on lando, they’ll be needing him to finish on the podium every race and they’re not able to do that right now. they are fast, but not enough yet. it would be useless to have two drivers in every team if you’re only focused on one.
secondly: what matters is the car who’s giving them the best result during the race, that’s why we’ve seen lando pass daniel multiple times, his pace was better and faster than dan; is not something bad, is better for the team, but of course is not good for dan personally. so yes, you’re right, is not entirely daniel’s fault, actually is nobody’s fault. (i can explain this better but i don’t want to make this too long for u)
an advice? take your time to understand all the teams. don’t focus only on mclaren so then you can have a full perspective of the grid and analize what i just told you :)
