um ummm I hope this doesn't come off as offensive at all but about your username, I just thought that maybe you'd want to hear out this perspective a convo from another writer who used to also be called hiraeth but they switched after a welsh person pointed something out. I'm nopt really educated about the issue but just thought i should send this!
hi anon ! first off, don't worry about coming off as offensive in any way, and thank you so much for pointing this out. i appreciate the fact that you have decided to send this to me, and after going through the interaction as well as watching the tiktok, i am very glad that you have sent this. i was ignorant of the generational pain behind this word, and i was not aware of this connection to the welsh so i am grateful for this chance to educate myself.
in short, after the research i have done on it, i will change my username and alias, it just doesn't feel right to continue using a word that has been widely misinterpreted and misused :)
