A PSA in regard to some recent questions I got:

I don't feel comfortable with talking/speculating about specific real, recent tragic events in the context of Hetalia and how personifications would react to them. Please keep in mind that in canon, the overall tone of Hetalia is a light-hearted satire. It's meant to focus on funny anecdotes and curiosities, not serious events and their ramifications. I don't think this is irrelevant.

I know that when writing headcanons or fanfiction, even I tend to shift towards a graver tone. I have talked about how I think personifications would deal with tragic events in the past. However, it was all either very generic or more tied to interpersonal relationships between personifications rather than a reaction to a specific event involving specific people. There are some lines that I don't think should be crossed. Mentioning recent events that are still fresh in many people's minds, specific names and specific people... To me, it feels disrespectful when the real aim is to focus on these fictional personifications' angst instead of exploring the harm and consequences all this had on real (or at least realistic) people.

In short -- I'm sorry but I will NOT answer questions that mention real people and (recent) events. Thank you for your understanding.

What Counts As DCMK Spoilers on This Tumblr?

Because I’ve had to spoil a few asks lately, and it occured to me that I should write down the mental guidelines I’ve been using. If you send an ask with spoilers in it, I’ll still accept it, but I’ll put it under a cut, and probably fewer people will see it. So:

Spoilers:

Individual case solution spoilers, including the culprit’s name, a specific description, (”the fiancee,” “the writer” etc.), the “trick” the murderer used, solutions to any codes being used by the murderer, etc.

Likewise, spoilers related to how KID’s tricks worked, or the solution to a specific KID note. Basically, solutions to any of the puzzles/mysteries of the chapter.

If the material was just translated (within the last two weeks-month) I will probably also spoil any ask that gets into specific spoilers about it.

Not Considered Spoilers:

Spoilers for large plot arcs (London Arc, Clash of Red and Black, Desperate Revival, ect)

Overarching plot spoilers in general (BO plot-related things, Pandora-related things)

Secret identities, except the really recently-revealed ones.

Character relationship stuff, including case spoilers related to that, especially the family stuff (i.e., Corbeau and that one time the Kudous kidnapped their son are fair game, as are Heiji cases with his parents. You can try to talk to me about shipping, but I ship like 4 couples period; good luck guessing.)

Really anything that won’t spoil the mystery of a specific episode, because it’s impossible to be on tumblr and not get overarching plot spoilers but knowing the culprit ahead of time isn’t much fun.

I’m sorry but I find speculating about real people (especially if still alive or very recently passed away) in these fictional contexts quite disrespectful. I have already said it, and my stance on this hasn’t changed: I’m not going to answer to this kind of questions.

This is a bit awkward, but it’s probably better if I say it now. Guys, I’m not actually taking ficlet/fanfiction requests at the moment. 😅 I did that one because I received that request and felt bad about ignoring it (after all, writing just that one wouldn’t take too much time – not to mention, I’m really grateful somebody would be interested in my writing! 💖) but... I actually never started taking requests. This has never changed. I don’t have much time for writing right now and I wouldn’t be able to keep up with requests if they kept coming. Not to mention, I should really focus on my longfics once I get a bit more spare time... I’ve already gotten another request so I will write that sooner or later, but please, no more after that. 😅

I may think about taking ficlet requests in the future since somebody appears to be interested, but right now, I can’t. Sorry about this! 😅

However, I’m sorry to say I won’t be able to answer this. I’m not comfortable with tackling real historical scenarios in details as my knowledge about them isn’t extensive enough, I’d just make a mess of things. Doubly so when there are real people involved – I don’t know the details, I don’t know why they acted the way they did and I certainly don’t know them enough to imagine how another person would react to them and their actions. Making up something in spite of this feels disrespectful, to me. Sorry about this!
