Is Ethan canonically bisexual or is that statement only for m!MC?

His sexuality is up to interpretation in relation to your MC.

What we do know is that he dated Harper, MC and one ambiguously gendered person that he fought with Tobias about.

I personally think Ethan is pansexual. My Ethan likes the person for who they are and is especially attracted to their mind above all else.

Ethan & Becca are very open minded and respectful towards one another's interests. However there are certain things that just irk one another like Ethan's love of the opera (that Becca just finds boring 90% of the time) and Becca's obsession with buying books (that go unread most of the time and live on every surface of the house - a trait unfortunately for Ethan his daughters share with their mother).

Ethan really can't find faults with any of Odette's quirks. Though, he doesn't understand fashion in the slightest and his partner wears some of the most ridiculous things and litters the space so much that they built a spare walk-in just for her non-work clothes. Ethan went through a slight mid-life crisis and started collecting bottles of local liquor from every place of their travels - not that big of a deal but he doesn't drink the bottles he puts them away in the beach house wine cellar and plans to open them all 'on a special occasion'...

What’s your pairing’s opinion on hickeys/love bites? Do they like them? Do they leave them on visible places? If not, how would they react to someone pointing out at one?

Odette doesn't like them. They make her uncomfortable.

Becca on the other hand loves her neck kissed/sucked/nipped/bit and love bites are happy little accidents. Though she prefers Ethan leaves the marks of their passion on her thighs or her breasts rather than anywhere overly visible.

If someone did catch a hickey on Becca she'd laugh it off and say something about how it was a good night and how she's shit at make up lol

But as I'm writing this, I started cracking up remembering that "What if they dated a porn star," OMG, how I'd love to revisit that. lol That was so much fun. But I digress (it's the ADHD)

Ethan x Ode: Ethan's away on Valentine's day this year. While they don't make a big deal out of Valentine's day, he still feels bad. So before he goes, he stashes little notes all over for Ode to find. How does that work out?

Ethan x Becca

Bryce Lahela is the GOAT. He bought all his friends the little heart chocolate boxes you get at CVS or some other equivalent store because he loves and cherishes them. But Becca... he got Becca the biggest frilliest one he could find - she's his best friend and has been down in the dumps for a few weeks, and if anyone was going to be his casual valentine it'd be her.

She's the last one on Bryce's gift list and he gives it to her in the hospital cafeteria. Grand spectacle and all that has nurses and other hospital-goers that don't know the gang looking on with hearts in their eyes. He's embarrassing and adorable and he's do it all just so he can see his bestie smile.

When she does - even gives her a giggle - he hands her the chocolates with a gallant kiss on the cheek.

And Bryce Lahela doesn't feel the hot blue flame filled eyes glaring hard enough to burn the scene to the ground.

But Becca catches his eye, just as the grumpy attending turns on his heels and promptly exits the room.

She pretends she didn't see it, just as she's sure he's going to wipe this from his memory as well.

Ethan x Ode

It's hard to balance two very demanding careers that're based on opposite sides of the country.

But Ethan and Odette make do. There's certain occasions they must make time for one another, and unfortunately Odette's favorite holiday fell through the cracks.

Well, no. That's not the whole truth. Ethan did come to visit three days before Valentine's Day, just couldn't be with her on the actual most romantic day of the year. They went out on the town and to the most exclusive and stunning eateries he could find, took her everywhere swoon-worthy in Tempe. It was everything and more than Ode could have imagined. Romance isn't dead.

The morning after he left for the redeye back to Boston, Ode found little notes of love around her apartment. Some on the fridge, in the fridge, on her vanity and her bathroom door, and on the hanger of the dress she wore on their first date. Even though Ethan wasn't here, she felt loved and cherished. Even took photos of her with the post its as she found them to text him.

Romance is most definitely more than just one day a year.

Do you think it would be somehow inappropriate if Ethan had a mentee in the same capacity MC was to him in book 1, once he and Becca are dating/married? I.e. An intern who he'd prefer to work all the time, long nights, ordering food, even meeting somewhere else, etc. Completely platonic because he’s whipped for Becca of course, but same dynamic. If yes, would that make their (E/B) professional relationship in book 1 inappropriate too? From a professional perspective.

I don't think Ethan would have another mentee after Becca. Mainly because he's too busy/high up to be working with interns again. In my hc he's obviously head of the DT and in any of his free professional time he's in the clinic helping out, and then when he's interim chief there ain't no way he has time to find the only intern with 3 working braincells. And anyway, like Ethan is Naveen's only prodigy, Becca is Ethan's. The only one who gets a mentee next logically is Becca 🙂

But if Ethan dared to undertake another mentee it would certainly rock things in the relationship depending on when this mysterious intern happened.

Lets say this intern happened in Becca's third year... My girl would have a very unsettled feeling about it. She'd 100% be jealous and questioning the man's patterns. I can just picture the fight that would break out with Becca accusing him of working on some other "secret case" as a ploy.

If it happened when they were married I think it would have been a discussion between them. Like Ethan or Becca coming home and talking about the potential of this person and the other being like 'why don't you mentor them'. Less dramatic and more like this individual is getting two mentors for the price of one 😂

but really, if ethan did take on another mentee i like to think he's smart enough to choose a non-threatening person.
