Post finale headcanons for Tyrus?

This came in last night but I was too tired to answer it so I’m sorry it’s late but here we go

Also a few count as during-finale off-screen

They sit on the bench laughing and talking a majority of the night with their intertwined hands resting between them

Marty left before TJ so Buffy went to find Cyrus and saw them sitting and talking and holding hands and just smiled and decided to leave them be

Anyway on to the post finale stuff sorry LOL

Even though they never really said any words about being boyfriends they have this whole Bexie thing where they’re like “my BOYFRIEND” to eachother but only in private

Cyrus knows Buffy and Andi know and tells TJ they probably already figured it out

But decided to let TJ decide when to tell them

TJ figures he trusts them and he wants Cyrus to be able to be happy and open at least with his friends

As soon as they tell Andi and Buffy and Jonah, Cyrus starts doing the “my BOYFRIEND” thing in front of them

And it makes TJ feel warm inside every time

Btw TJ gets integrated into the friend group naturally at some pt

For Halloween they decide to make up for costume day by dressing as somersault

Cyrus insists they don’t need to since TJ would be dressing in SHORTS AND A TSHIRT IN THE MIDDLE OF OCTOBER but TJ wants to do it and doesn’t take no for an answer

Cyrus makes big deals about planning small little dates for him and TJ

TJ starts teaching Cyrus the bare basics of piano and used it as an excuse to guide his fingers

Even though he doesn’t need an excuse because they hold hands almost any time they’re in private

Cyrus shows TJ tater theatre and TJ thinks its such a fun idea to do and is always genuinely interested

In highschool Cyrus always takes Buffy to watch TJ’s basketball games (yes ofc TJ joined basketball in hs wdym)

TJ and Buffy always banter but with no malice as Cyrus stands next to his boyfriend holding his hand

And every now and then Cyrus just looks at them and smiles being so happy abt how far they’ve come

Tyrus and Muffy double dates were started by Cyrus and TJ showing up at the spoon where Marty and Buffy were together

At first TJ wanted to let them be alone but Cyrus made a beeline for Buffy and then they were all together suddenly

But it was fun so Marty said they should do it again sometime which they did

TJ gets his license before Cyrus and always invites him to go on rides literally anywhere

Sometimes they just drive around and sing to music and talk and have no real destination

One day he claims its a Tyrus/Muffy date at a secret location but then the other 3 are confused when they see Amber and Jonah in the car who were just as confused

Then TJ drives the 6 of them to SAVA to get to see Andi and her school and art as a surprise

Seeing Cyrus’s face when he saw SAVA and ran to Andi made his entire week

That “date” was basically like going to a museum seeing Cyrus run around looking at things excitedly so TJ felt it was worth

And ofc TJ ran around looking at the art and was amazed by all the talent as well as have fun with all the others which made Cyrus happy that TJ and his friends were able to be happy ALL TOGETHER

Anytime they’d argue one of them would bring (or make from Cyrus’s end) muffins as an apology

They either have their first kiss at the swings (maybe reenacting swings 2.0)(initiated by TJ sly dog) or just mundanely hanging at someone’s house (initiated by Cyrus instinctively)

Cyrus finds his face hoodie at TJ’s house one day and they laugh over how small and oblivious they were

The way TJ smiles at Cyrus never changes because he adores this boy now and forever

TJ is the one to ask Cyrus to jr prom even tho its a given they’re going together bc he feels Cyrus deserves it

Cyrus is the one to ask TJ to go to prom in return down the line

Cyrus’s dancing never changes but TJ loves how excitable and energetic he is while dancing anyway

That’s all I got for now I just woke up lol

I just realized this is long im sorry lol

Late addition but even though they never had a convo abt calling eachother boyfriend, they DID have a conversation properly establishing their relationship

One of them is probably still half in disbelief so the other PROPERLY asks them out using the words “will you go out with me”

Cyrus probably asks because he’s always the one going off about the importance of communication

TJ probably responds with “I never thought I’d hear that. Yes. 100 times yes.”

Before Tyrus was even a real ship, I was watching Andi mack with my mom, and she saw the "he's with me" scene and said "oh did the gay boy finally get a boyfriend" and I went like "no Disney wouldn't do that" and I guess I was wrong

Ngl same asf I thought it was cute but I thought it was me just hoping and seeing things bc “Disney may have a gay mc but that doesn’t mean they’ll let us see him have a bf. One can dream tho”

What's your favourite Tyrus scene and why?

…I feel like TJ right now “anything but that” DKSAJDLKSJA

Jk I’ll answer but oh god that’s a hard one when I’m already conflicted over what my favorite scenes are… like there are SO MANY GOOD TYRUS SCENES. Watch me change my mind as soon as I post this.

Ok my top 3 favorite Tyrus scenes are probably the hallway scene in “A Walker To Remember”,  swings 2.0 from “The New Girls”, or the bench scene from “We Were Here.” Do you care if I explain them all? Because I haven’t decided on a singular one. I’ll do it anyway under the cut because its… long LOL

Also if anyone wants to talk about their top 3 Tyrus scenes on here or wants to drop into my ask box to talk about their top 3 Tyrus scenes, be my guest! I’m curious about yall’s fav scenes too :3

1) The Hallway Scene

The hallway scene in “A Walker To Remember” is one of my favorite Tyrus scenes not necessarily because it was a romantic moment or a HUGE HISTORICAL moment in their relationship, but because it’s such a good scene for both of their characters individually. TJ opens up about his dyscalculia, Cyrus reassures him and is there for him.

For TJ, it’s him finding someone he’s comfortable enough to talk to about his dyscalculia and being reassured that “There’s NOTHING wrong with you.” (Which, if you couldn’t tell from my blog title, is one of my favorite quotes in the show.) It’s showing he’s comfortable enough with Cyrus to come out about something, and though it’s not about his sexuality, it’s still about something he’s extremely insecure about. But he’s being told by someone he trusts and someone he cares about that it’s okay, he can overcome it, and he doesn’t need to be ashamed. Though the swing scene 1.0 is the first time we see him let his guard down, this scene is the first time we see TJ COMPLETELY open up. And that made me happy. 

For Cyrus, it’s the first time as far as I can remember that we really see “therapist Cyrus” come into play. Yes, before that point both he and Buffy were there for Andi and Jonah in different occasions, but this is the first time I can think of where he’s talking to someone ALONE. Not only that, but this is the first time Cyrus really leaves his friends to seek TJ out when he’s feeling bad and the first time he really protects TJ from his friends when Andi suggests yelling at him with megaphones a little earlier. While before we know he likes TJ as a person from the muffin, swings, and bar mitzfah, this is the first time we actually got to see how much he CARES about TJ too by specifically going to make sure he’s okay and lend an ear.

And TJ sums up what Cyrus does for him best with the single phrase “You’re the one who really helped me.”

2) Swings 2.0

Okay I don’t think this one is as hard to explain why I like it. It’s probably the first TRULY romantically coded Tyrus scene. Not to say that the ones before weren’t romantic, but like. REALLY romantic. It’s hard to explain.

Scenes before were soft and cute and heartwarming and fun, but I think this was the first scene where it really… carried that amount of weight. It set up for the challah scene and golf cart flirting scene and the bench scene really well, but the sheer amount of feeling in this scene was the first Tyrus scene that really hit me with that second-hand embarrassment. I was honestly blushing by the end of it lmao.

Everything about this scene made me feel like it was really important and beautiful. From the cinematography to the acting to the parallels to the actual words spoken, everything about it was just breathtaking to me. First time it came out, I think I wrote a wholeass chunk about what I loved about it. But at this point it’s been awhile since I’ve actually watched it so… I’m at a loss for words. But the fact it was at “their spot”, the fact that it was the first real conflict BETWEEN the two of them, the fact that it truly showed that they were equals as they each stood their ground, the fact they looked each other dead in the eye while they bantered? And the fact that as soon as TJ took the step to break the bantering to show how much he really cared about Cyrus they both shared a soft smile and were able to be back on good terms without much more words needed? Breathtaking. All of it. Luke and Josh really had me on the edge of my seat the entire scene.

Plus how can I not love the fact where it really nailed in the fact that for TJ, Cyrus was truly “The only person he can talk to like this.”

3) The Bench Scene

So. So so so so SO. What do I have to say about this that hasn’t already been said. It’s the moment they became CANON. The FIRST canon gay couple in Disney Channel history. What more do I need to say?

But really, again. Similar to why I love the swings 2.0, the cinematography, the acting, and this time not necessarily the words spoken but the fact that they were able to say so much with so little words was beautiful. While the last two scenes reaffirmed how much impact their words have on each other, this scene instead was the one that acts as a reminder that sometimes the actions SCREAM above the words.

Seriously, the softness of both their voices, the tentative twitch of TJ’s hand as he tried to hold Cyrus’s, the way they went from hesitant to relieved when they interlaced their fingers? It was beautiful. You could actually feel the weight of their sighs and soft smiles at the end of it, drilling it home that this is it. This is the moment we’ve been waiting for, the moment THEY’VE been waiting for. They finally knew for certain they weren’t alone in what they were feeling, and they didn’t even need to voice it. I just. I loved it.

Plus, the campfire in the background, the way they looked at each other, how comfortable they are able to be with one another and how they were able to be even MORE comfortable once their feelings were really out in the open? How could I not love this scene? Most romantic scene on Disney Channel as far as I’m concerned.

Sorry this was so long. I just… have so many feelings on not only Tyrus but the scenes LMFAO. I was thinking of doing a top 10 Andi Mack scenes post, but maybe I’ll just… type which scenes they are not why I love them. First time to cut it down to 10 though lol.

Ngl I can’t tell if this ask means just talk about Buffy or asking me for any post-finale Buffy headcanons, but since I just posted a post-finale Tyrus headcanon thing I’m assuming headcanons for now lol

She insists on making Andi a time capsule like what Cyrus and Andi made for her before she moved away

Speaking of her time capsule she still has it sitting in her room and refuses to open it

One day she invited Marty over to hang and he was gonna throw something away in it because it looked like a huge ass trashcan

So she had to stop him and inform him it was the time capsule

In which he teased he remembers than and he put something in too but won’t tell her in an attempt to make her open it so he could learn what was inside too

But it didn’t work rip

Buffy decided to try joining cross country, girls basketball, and track in highschool

She also joined her school’s BSU

She ran with Marty most of the time and had mini competitions with him both for xc and track

Marty wins more long distance while she wins more short distance

In xc Marty has to remind her to focus on her stamina a lot

So she just wind up at a stable pace bantering with him most practices

She’s the one to insist TJ and Marty hang out with her and Cyrus and Jonah more often as a group

“They may be BOYfriends but that still means they should be FRIENDS to our friends”

She does geniunely enjoy TJ’s company now but when TJ and Cyrus announced they were dating she still gave him the “hurt my best friend I’ll kill you” talk

Even as Jonah doesn’t use docious magocious she tries to get him to say it again “for old times sake”

She, Andi, and Amber like to have “girls nights” every now and then

90% of the time those nights involve dancing and karaoke

Cyrus one day gives her a “good hair crew” shirt (an extra he didn’t put in the capsule) and she wears is frequently as pajamas

Even with boyfriends they reserve time to hang out with each other independently

No matter how old they get there always comes a time where Buffy carries Cyrus again and she’s always able to do it with extreme ease

In highschool she gets straight A’s and holds tutoring sessions for her friends every now and then

Cyrus helped her understand how to help TJ with math, so anytime he needs extra help outside his special tutor she tries to help him out

There’s some Buffy hcs for now I can give more if ya want LOL

I thought more about Muffy running together and I totally see Buffy relying on Marty to keep pace in a marathon, and in the last bit she sprints so she never has to lose to a finger foot.

AHAHAHHA OH MY GOSH YES

At first she doesn’t listen to him when he says to stay steady and keep up her stamina, so for a while she eventually slows down and loses and gets frustrated. Then Marty just insists to keep at his pace all the way to work up to doing better. And then at a certain point when Buffy feels like she has his pace down she realizes all she has to do is keep with him until the last stretch where she can BOLT and leave him in the dust.

And that’s exactly what she starts doing.

Which the first time it happens frustrates Marty but how can he really stay mad when she’s so excited about figuring out how to beat him.

Doesn’t mean he doesn’t still try to beat her though. ;P

I love the Buffy headcanons. And I 500% am behind the running ones. I also have a headcanon that Buffy doesn't have a big growth spurt and ends up focusing more on running.

OOO that ones interesting too!! I’m like... big conflicted about whether Buffy would focus on running or basketball more, mainly because of how much growth she had involving basketball in particular and how the finale had them all picture Buffy as an NBA coach.

Even if she doesn’t have a growth spurt to help her as a basketball player, it’d be cool imo if she would up focusing more on the actual plays rather than playing. Kinda again going into the “coach buffy” mentality. Like another headcanon I’d had that I knocked out because I’d love to think of her still being involved in running was if she hadn’t been involved in a sport that season, she and Cyrus would help out as managers on the boys basketball team. Cyrus more on the wellness of the team with waters and snacks and stuff while Buffy more on the organizing practices and butting in to help the coach give advice to the players.

But seeing Buffy go back to focusing on running would also be really cool, because for one it gives her the chance to prove to herself that if she properly trained she COULD run a marathon with ease and for another it gives her more time to challenge herself against Marty. I love the idea that she and Marty like doing marathons together and would find it really fun if she and the others participated in something kind of like the color run! While she and the “athletes” ran, the non-athletic ones volunteered as participants who played with the color and threw it at the marathon runners! Mixes the artsy and the athletic to find something fun together. Plus good bonding experience with two different groups!!

No matter what I support sporty Buffy through and through. She a fine fit QUEEN and I feel like no matter where she went in life, she’d definitely participate in sports in one way or another

YES! Buffy as a coach in high school. I could totally see that a la Jess from Friday Night Lights. That would be such an interesting storyline, especially if she were to be assistant coach for the boys team instead of the girls. Dealing with sexism and stereotypes, and probably other topics I can't think of in the moment. And yes, she's gotta keep the competition alive with Marty so I'd like her to run in some capacity. I'm having so much fun with these headcanons. Thank you for indulging me!

YES!! And because I’m a SUCKER for platonic Tuffy, if she were to receive backlash I could totally see TJ be her support instead of her aggressor this time around too. Even if he’d receive some backlash since he doesn’t have as much power or reputation as a new player on the highschool team compared to being captain of the team in Jefferson, I’d love for that to help build their relationship more as well. Plus, that’d DEFINITELY be such a cool thing for her to look back on if she WERE to really become an NBA coach in the future like the group imagined in the finale. Parallels all around with a healthy dose of destroying haters!

And same @running with Marty for competition. Even though basketball was such great development for her, running track is sort of what got her started with joining school sports, so I love the idea of her continuing that too!! And it’s like... their thing. Muffy staples are parties, competition, napkins, and RUNNING. 

ALSO YEAH DROP BY ANYTIME! Lmao headcanons are fun and it’s always more fun talking out ideas with others :D
