she was teasing— mostly. it was her way of dealing with the fact that he was being so fucking sweet, something she wasn’t used to at all. her family had never said anything remotely like that to her, nor did anyone she’d worked with throughout the academy or those she’d crossed paths with since joining the department. connor was the first.
there’s a pause after her words, as she focused mostly on keeping her breathing even and aggressively trying to not let her cheeks flame up. it didn’t really work out very well for her, though, so she moves to reach forward and gently squeeze the android’s hand with the smallest of bashful smiles.
