Not to bring the mood down but as dad how do you cope with the uncertain & unsafe state of the world now? Are the boys seeing & reacting to what’s happening? How do you stay optimistic & hopeful in such ugly, scary times?

Well, not to bring the mood down further, but being born in late 2000, I feel like I've only known ugly, scary times in the world. 9/11 happened before I was one, Bush wars, Trump's first presidency, Covid, and Trump 2.0, ICE....etc.

Luckily, I can show my boys that love exists in such an ugly world. It's about being aware of what's happening, but remembering that you can make a difference. If I can make my kids lives happy and full of love, that's really all that matters.

I’m really depressed. I need some tips on how to bring happiness back into my life.

Well, for one, don't be afraid to seek professional help. There seems to be a stigma around it, but if you are depressed, talk to a doctor or therapist. Medication can help and isn't something you should be ashamed about.

I've talked to a therapist before.

But also, try and do things that make you happy. Try to surround yourself with people that make you happy and if you don't have a lot of those people in your life, try something new and try to meet people!

Get fresh air!

And always remember that everyone has down times and it will get better!
