👀= What’s something that aesthetically or artistically catches your eye? Answer: Coffee-stained paper somehow always looks pretty whenever I see them. Maybe it is because I love dark and light academia.

🌂= Is there any way that you imagine an alternate timeline or universe of the world we live in here and now?

Answer: Harry potter world. I would answer something like Genshin impact universe or Bungo Stray dogs, But then I remember, I have no idea how to wield a weapon professionally. On the other hand, You do not need to be a skilled swordsman or marksman in Hogwarts, all you need to do is learn to pick the right fights and memorize op spells. (BTW I am a Slytherin)

What really changed is that I’m on vacation and didn’t want to have such a long description after adding the vacation message.

I mean, this blog is sort of themed with a certain firebender in mind and as much as I have a trollish sense of humor, this blog isn’t one of those self-proclaimed “satire” blogs.

I have the opposite problem---whenever I write Korrasami I always feel like I'm dragging myself through writing the non-romantic parts. Then I get worried because if it's boring to me will it be boring to readers?

Want to write the romantic portions of my fic and I’ll handle your non-romantic content?  j/k

I’m the primary audience for my fic so I write what amuses me, post it to AO3, and hope that other people find it entertaining as well. If I’m not enjoying it, it’s not worth the effort.

The parts of writing that feel like “suffering” to me, I treat as a challenge or a puzzle to be solved. For a while, I thought about not describing what happened in the Tree of Time at all – just have Korra and Asami enter it and exit it and leave what happened inside to the mind of the reader – because I wasn’t comfortable with headcanoning how it would work. But I got over that because I knew it wouldn’t work. I’m very happy with the scene I ended up writing.

I hated how I originally wrote my OCs in Chapter 5 (they started out imbecilic). Then I came up with an idea on what I wanted them to represent and rewrote them into characters that I absolutely adore and want to write more about.

Right now, I don’t feel like I can write paragraph after paragraph of quiet, earnest, loving Korrasami. Partly, I simply don’t want to do it but, also, there are people who are so good at it that I don’t feel like I personally need to write it. I’m probably just feeling incredibly intimidated because it’s something a lot of people don’t seem to struggle with. Maybe I’ll grow comfortable with writing them that way? I really won’t know without trying.

(Also, I write rather trollishly. It’s what’s most fun to me but may not be appropriate for intimate KA scenes?)

So I guess what I’m saying is that the times I’ve gotten stuck or felt intimidated, I’ve gotten myself through them by challenging myself to write the scenes in ways that amuse me.

If you want any detailed advice, feel free to send me a private ask and maybe I can ask you some pointed questions or make some suggestions that may help you out. (Might take me a while to get to it though but, like, I can’t stare at code all day either.)

Do you believe Mako and Asami were actually a couple during Night of a Thousand Stars? I'm always confused when I hear people say oh they weren't a couple it was just 1 kiss that they both immediately regretted. Because like, I wish it had been that way. But they seemed pretty back together the way they had their arms wrapped around each other. They seemed like a happy couple the way they did in early book 1. Do people just want Mako to not have cheated on Asami so they deny they were a couple?

TBF, I haven’t seen this argument that much. And I don’t spend a lot of time reading Mako stans (or even Asami stans) so it’s possible I’ve misread all of this. But I’ll try to give you an answer anyway.

In Book 2, I don’t think that Mako and Asami went beyond what we saw onscreen (which was still more than just one kiss). I do believe that they would have gotten back together if Korra didn’t come back the way she did and how she did. But then I think other characters like Bolin would have still perceived it as a wrong thing to do. I mean, it’s implied in the story that both characters perceive that what they’re doing is wrong.

I think delving into interpretations of “Masami 2.0″ tell us more what people think about relationships in general than it helps us interpret the story.

I think Asami was going to Mako for her own stress relief and was hopeful for a real relationship to brighten up her life. I think Mako was semi-reluctantly going along with Asami as his “rebound” to forget about Korra. They sure were happy to see each other after Mako was released from prison (before Korra ran up and kissed Mako).

Even “Remembrances” plays up this idea that Mako didn’t think he was ever dating Asami (even in Book 1!) but has other characters criticizing him for this. I like to think that this was meta thrown at the fans. That some people latched onto those words to mean “Mako didn’t really love Asami; he was/is in love with Korra the whole time” is sort of ironic.

TL;DR - I think people who like to believe that Mako and Asami never officially dated want to do so because they want to believe that Korra was Mako’s one true love and need extra emphasis on Asami not meaning as much to him.

Hello. How much time do you think passed between the final battle with Kuvira and the wedding scenes? Similarly, how much time passed between the wedding and Korra and Asami leaving on their spirit world adventure? I always saw it as several weeks to a month after, so I never understood why people find Korra irresponsible for taking off immediately after. Does the show establish how much time passed? And would people complain less if they HAD established how much time passed overall?

I find it amusing that “Korra Alone” does a better job at showing how much time has passed (covering roughly three years in one episode) than the whole rest of the season does. In “After All These Years”, Mako says that the coronation is in a few days. At the end of “Operation Beifong,” we have Zhu Li saying that Kuvira is marching on Republic City in two weeks (but then Kuvira accelerates that plan by one week).

I know it’s popular to think that two weeks passed between the Battle of Republic City and Varrick and Zhu Li’s wedding but I think that’s just based off of comments that Bryke made on the disc commentary for “The Last Stand” where they mention (paraphrasing) that Asami’s had a rough couple of weeks.

I think those weeks include things like visiting her father in prison n’ stuff.

I just have a hard time imagining Korra not having those conversations with Mako, Tenzin and Asami for two weeks. I don’t like to think that more important conversations happened in the time between.* I like to think that we saw the important parts onscreen.

So I imagine the amount of time that passed between the battle and wedding is however long it took to arrange for the wedding (including getting the guests back into the city and making sure they had reasonable accommodations – and Zhu Li is a very capable woman so I’d like to imagine it took her a few days – perhaps less than a week).

* What completely shoots this down is that one would think there would have had to have been a big deal made about burying Hiroshi Sato. (And this is one of the various reasons why I wish the comics have some focus on “what Hiroshi represents to Republic City”, what with being both a hero and a former terrorist. That’s the kind of story that would interest me.) I like to believe that the reason this isn’t in the show itself is because it’s more to do with Asami than tying up Korra’s own story.

As for people complaining? No, I don’t think it would change a thing.

Also, when it comes to the actual rebuilding of Republic City, I think Asami Sato is more important than the Avatar. So why is it such a bad idea to make sure that Asami is in a good place when she starts working on the rebuilding/city expansion effort?
