Is there anybody you're curious about in Redwood? Anything you are looking forward to?
Every time I run into a group of survivors, I try to match up testimony I collected elsewhere. I always hope I can connect someone, somehow. So, I'm curious if that will happen here, and I hope in a positive way.
How do you cope?
Writing things out, talking to people. It's a comfort to know other people feel and experience what you have.
Other than that, I try to focus on one day at a time.
Do you still love Lucien? Do you think there could be something more between you two?
I think I'll always love him. I don't know if loved ever really goes away, or not entirely.
I'm not sure, we've both changed and I don't know if who we are now would work. Time will tell, I suppose.

I don't think it's a forgiveness issue at this point. Or - not for me. It's been years; I'm not exactly nursing a broken heart these days.
If he regrets his actions, we can certainly talk about that. If he needs to feel forgiven, we can talk about that, too.
Also what if Evan's dad met Lukas's dad?
Ekwame was a pretty chill dude. He was dismissive towards women and children, but I can imagine him getting along with most other men he meets.
Although Foster could definitely be an asshole, Ekwame was so quiet and agreeable that I think they would actually compliment eachother well. They'd drink beer and shoot the shit late into the night, agreeing that kids these days are lazy and useless, and everything was better "back in their day".
