Pairing: Augustus Waters and Hazel Grace Lancaster
Prompt: I will write our characters as a married couple
Pretty AU for now, since they won't really live to adulthood. Was that mean?
Augustus opened the door, flinching slightly. His prosthetic was acting up today, something it did now and again. "Hazel?" he piped, coming through the doorway. And there he saw her, his wife, sitting on the couch. He draped his jacket across one of the chairs, before moving to sit next to her on the couch. "Hey you," he murmured, nuzzling her cheek
Hazel turned her gaze from the TV, where a skinny model was being voted off the show, and looked up at him, giving a bright smile. "Gus!" She laughed softly, moving into his open arms. He leaned down to kiss her sweetly, showing the adoration he's had for her for years now.
Pulling away, he stroked her cheek with the pads of his thumb, staring down at her with bright eyes. "And how is my lovely wife today?" he asked softly. Curling more into his arms, she sighed softly.
"Okay," she hummed, before smiling a bit at the word. It was their word; their always. "How was school?"
"Okay." he grinned, laughing softly. "Nothing important, really. Just more homework." Augustus Waters was in medical school, to become an oncologist, and to work on finding a cure to cancer. Namely, thyroid cancer that causes mets in people's lungs. It was something he was determined to do, and he would work at it forever. Even if something happened and the love of his life vanished, he'd continued to work on it. Just for all the other Hazel Graces out there.
"You should get started on it," she admonished gently.
"Homework can wait. You can't." Gus grinned again, moving to kiss her a little deeper, fitting her against his body perfectly, like they were made for each other.
"I love you, 'Gus" she murmured against his lips.
Nibbling on her lower lip gently, he hummed happily. "I love you too, my Hazel Grace."
