4 - Being attacked

Her hooves were kicking up the dust, as Shendelzare ran as fast as she could. Another loud screech made her realize that she was already close, and a few moewnts later she saw the light of the Phoenix. The bird was fighting with a whole pack of disgusting skinny imps, who looked like they were going to turn the bird into their feast, and totally ignored his flames. Hellish bastards were not afraid of fire at all! Shendelzare kept running towards them, until the bird turned its head and looked at her. The spirit slowed down and froze to the ground. She didn't know if the bird needed her help, or... was himself going to attack her?

Shendelzare loves Icarus, appreciates his looks and thinks of him as of divine-like being. She loves to spend time in his company. She even cuddles the bird on her own initiative, and strokes his feathers. She feels calm and safe around him, though the nature of such feeling is unknown. It makes her a bit weaker, as her rage makes her stronger, but it also makes her happier, because that's the only moments when she can completely get rid of negative emotions. * (recent events are not counted here)

Though Skywraths and birds belong to same element and worship the same goddess, Shendelzare thinks of all birds as of 'smaller brother' species, and has no sexual attraction to them. Even to the most beautiful and smart ones.

"TRILL!" Icarus called on the sight of Aiushtha, incredibly happy to see the forest guardian. -ask-icarus-phoenix

Enchantress turned her head to the direction where she heard the voice of Phoenix, waving her hand as the sunbird came closer.

"Phoenix! How are you lately? Is everything alright with your nest?"

"I still have the nightmares where i am killing the Phoenix... or are they just memories? Sometimes its hard to spot the reality from a dream, when you live a life alike mine. I still remember how his flames, once warming and beautiful turned into smoking hellfires... this sight still disturbs me. I couldn't know about the Demons magic controlling his mind. He looked so different..." - Shendelzare shook her head. There was still no news from the Doom, she didn't know when the demon was going to free Icarus.

My recent visit to the Grand Astronomical Observatory was a source of intriguing discovery. From what I gathered, one of the stars in the sky appears to be approaching these very planes, growing brighter over the course of time.

Most of the astronomers are, of course, worried. I myself half-wonder if we are all about to be incinerated at some point in the future, but I also wonder if there isn’t some other force at work here. Oh, perhaps its really just an expensive illusionist’s trick, or perhaps the star is merely burning brighter than it’s ever been for some reason. But given what I already know about the Ancients, I think this is simply yet another phenomenon caused by this endless war.

One doesn’t fight alongside those such as Harbinger and the Fundementals and not suspect if life exists outside of these planes. Perhaps this star is simply the arrival of some new cosmic force, one that none of us had ever known to exist before. If so, what form would it wear to manifest itself? Something familiar, or something otherworldly? I quite hope the upcoming New Bloom festival shall not disappoint.
