The problem of grouping the few problematic aces with the ace side of discourse, similar to grouping radical feminists with the rest of feminists, is its unfair to the main ace community who are suffering from the discourse. To continue to generalise, laugh at asexuals, exclude or post jokes about how asexuals are touchy, just based on the minority problem if ones, is only furthering suffering. There are more than 2 sides to this discourse and if an asexual says ‘pls don’t’, why not just stop?
on the one hand I get what you’re saying and don’t want to minimize in any way that there are struggles ace people go through. There is more nuance to it than that, like i said on the other hand the post I reblogged Was ridiculous and I saw it more to the effect of someone saying “I don’t trust anyone who says they’re a lesbian because lesbians are TERFs” but like........ with the word “tunglr” like the whole exchange was ridiculous. and I guess I’m not ace so I shouldn’t say like “don’t be offended” but like................ it was a silly exchange. that was the point of it. If it hadn’t been about ace discourse it still would have been a silly exchange.
