2 men doused with gasoline set on fire, Man charged. Two men are in critical condition Saturday after a co-worker doused them with gasoline and set them on fire, according to Baltimore County police.
The incident started as a workplace dispute. Friends said it was supposed to be settled with a fistfight, but the confrontation took a violent turn. The incident was captured in a graphic video that was shared online.
"We were recording for a fight," said David Widener, who recorded the video and posted it online. Firefighters were called around 4:45 p.m. Friday to Pulaski Highway near Allender Road in the White Marsh area, where the confrontation happened.Investigators said four co-workers traveling in two cars walked to a gas station when one of the cars ran out of gas. When they got back to their cars, an argument ensued and turned into a fight.
Police said Christopher Harrison Jr., 28, poured gas on two of his co-workers and set them on fire.
"He threw the gas on him and caught him on fire, and it just happened so quick," said AnthonyRodriguez, who works for the same company as Harrison and the victims.
"They are in a burn unit. According to our detectives, they received information from the hospital that one of the victims received burns over 90 percent of his body, and his burns are so significant that his clothes were burned off of him at the scene. A second victim received burns over 60 percent of his body," Baltimore County police Cpl. Shawn Vinson said. Rodriguez told 11 News that Harrison had an ongoing dispute with one of the victims.
"They kept pushing him and pushing him, saying that they wanted to fight him," Rodriguez said.
"They had agreed to settle it. Nothing besides that was said, even leading up to the altercation. They both took their shirts off and appeared like they were going to fight," Widener said. Police are using the video as part of the investigation.
"We did receive this video. We do have that video as evidence that we'll use to further our investigation and hopefully assist the prosecution of this case," Vinson said. As the investigation continues, a group of one of the victim's friends is doing what they can to help him heal by raising money through a GoFundMe page.
"He might not be able to work when he comes out, and I kind of wanted to have a little bit of money set aside for him so he would be able to get on his feet and recover," said Cody Yeager.
Harrison is facing numerous charges, including attempted first-degree murder.
