Sam ducked his head with a small smile, trying hard not to read too into Madison's words. He didn't doubt that she loved him, just the way of it, but that wasn't an excuse to keep her hanging and replied without a second thought. "I love you too, Mads." The words hung in the air for a brief moment before the words processed in his mind and he was quick to add, "Right, 'cause you're like one of the best girl friends- Or just like friends in general that I've ever had."

He gave an awkward laugh with a wince, looking away and scratching the back of his head before clearing his throat. "Pinky promise you won't hate me when Duly Noted beats New Directions this year?"

❝ You're the most talented person I know. ❞

"Do you really mean that?" Sam gave Madison a look filled with wonder and a touch of raw happiness. "Cause you know like a ton of super talented people." Some of which included the other's own twin brother. "Or are you just saying that so I'll give you the last half of the bagel?" He grinned and held it up to her, hesitating only for a few seconds in a teasing manner. "I was going to do that anyways."

"Is that a good thing or a bad one?" Sam asked, glancing at Jacob before settling down onto the couch next to Brett who was already loading the bowl with freshly grinded flower. "It's one bowl and we have to commemorate our new partnership somehow." He lifted his shoulder in a shrug that looked a little too tense to be casual.

"If you want me to get out of your guys' hair afterwards, that's fine. I'll make sure to leave the apartment for a few hours, just make sure this one showers after. He made a deal with Kurt." The blonde tilted his head at Brett who was currently lighting the bong to take a hit before looking back at JBI. "Also, if you guys are going to uh... do that again, could you go to Brett's room, not mine?"

❝ I don't trust a man with curly hair. I can't help but picturing birds laying sulfurous eggs in there and I find it disgusting. ❞

Sam stared at Brett for almost a full thirty seconds with narrow eyes before shaking his head and throwing up his hands. "Kurt's right, more showers and you're using that new soap. I'll even let you use my deep conditioner if you promise to let me check your hair before bed." He reached out, almost to touch it now, then seemed to pause and get up from the couch. "I'm going to get some gloves."

❝ You know how hard long distance relationships can be, we both saw the Notebook. ❞

"He wrote her every day for a year, Ryder. A year!" Sam lifted a hand to rub at his left eye, of course it was raining right then. "But yeah, you're right, dude. Then again, I think it's easier if someone's not stealing your letters. Plus, there's so much more technology now that I think it wouldn't be so bad."

"I know, Mads, why do you think I keep trying out for all of the Glee Clubs every year?" A rare bit of frustration leaked out into Brett's words and he tugged at the ends of his long hair, he really needed a smoke right then. He curled into himself and sighed, shaking his head. "Maybe I should give drama a try, you like it right? Or wait, what about improv? Improv is special, right?" As soon as the words left his lips, Brett was pulling out his phone and looking into improv classes nearby.

❝ Who cares what happens when we get there, when the getting-there has been so much fun? ❞

"Not to harsh the vibes or anything, Jacob, because you make like, a really good point. But I really don't want to go to prison. Or even jail. Sam made me watch all of Orange is the New Black to try and scare me straight so I know what happens and I'm too pretty. We're too pretty." Brett put his hands on JBI's shoulders, giving him a brief shake to emphasize his point. "Plus, he already said he wouldn't bail me out unless I gave away Lil' Smokie. It's not my fault he likes to snuggle with Sam, the dude smells like coconuts and sunshine."

"You know what you need, my good angry sir? Some Mary Jane, she'll keep you right." Brett took his trench coat in hand and displayed the inner workings like he was a shady salesman looking to sell Jake a watch, only his coat was full of joints and blunts (including one that looked like a cross), not timepieces. "So, which one do you want? I'll even give it to you for free because of the misunderstanding earlier." The redhead looked both ways before leaning in and giving the other a wink . "I'll even give you two, if you put in a good word for me joining Duly Noted."
