Kazuki immediately busted into Jin’s room when he heard a loud scream and even turned on the bedroom lights, hearing the shorter man scream for his life. He didn’t know why but the sound of Jin’s voice always made his heart thump anxiously.

“Jin-chan! Are you okay? What’s wrong?” Kazuki rapidly asked all in one breath as he sat down Jin’s bed and wrapped his arms around Jin to comfort him.

It had been several months since Jin had lived in the same apartment with him. Kazuki had no idea why Jin finally came over to live with him, and the shorter man hadn’t really explained what happened either. But Kazuki didn’t mind and took him in without hesitation. They had known each for almost their whole life, and in some respects, Kazuki trusted Jin like a real partner would. He had no idea how Jin felt for him, and that uncertainty gnawed at his heart. He had been tempted to ask Jin what was the status of their relationship, but Kazuki refrained himself from doing so because he didn’t want to further burden Jin’s heart.

“Don’t cry. I’m here for you. Always.” Kazuki whispered, not knowing if Jin heard him through what Kazuki perceived to be Jin’s muffles and tears. He even placed a soft kiss on Jin’s head as he hoped to clear away the despair clouding Jin’s mind.

If he could lift and erase all of Jin’s pain and carry it for him, then Kazuki wouldn’t hesitate to do it in a heartbeat. Because that was how much he cared about this man.
