Is there any specific ritual you go through while/before/after your writing? --or if you want to answer a more serious question-- Do you have structured ideas of how your story is supposed to go, or make it up as you write?
Question 1
Sit there and blob and formulate beforehand.
If I have nothing on hand to write things down, I sit on it all day until I get a chance to put it down. While I’m writing, it’s usually a diligent affair, and I tend to read through what I have written and constantly change things if I have to put the project down for any reason.
And blob afterward to clear my mind to ready for the next prompt/idea.
Basically, my ritual is ‘faff about until something happens, faff about while it’s happening, faff about after it’s done. Oh yeah, and check yourself as you go, that’s important’.
Question 2
Kind of both. Some of them come to me in these super linear and well-flowed ideas. Others are ‘god i hope this sounds right’ as I’m slapping it down on paper. Usually, the latter doesn’t make it to postings and sits in folders for eternity until I decide I want to try again, or try to add on to it and attempt to finish it.
Hey hey and Happy Mother's day to all! Question for you Horsemen, what do you think would be the most suitable gift for your mothers and (if any are comfortable enough) why?
Return greetings were given before they grew silent. For Death and War, ‘mother’ was a bit of a touchy subject for obvious reasons.
Death never really knew his mother. Baptiste, much like his son, did not stay with one partner at any given time, though he only sired one child that he knew of, and that was his son. He had been pulled away from his mother as soon as he was old enough to be weaned. Even then, the Vodou shaman was very secretive about his son’s other parent and never brought her up nor mentioned her much.
War’s mother was a bit of a sore spot, not just for her daughter, but for everyone involved. She was also proof of how easily the magnet could sink its influence into one not prepared enough for it, the dangers posed on how easy it was for it to manipulate and twist thoughts and comprehension.
Knowing the question had struck a nerve with their two comrades, Plague and Famine instead took the stage. No question should be left unanswered, even if only half of them decided to answer.
Plague shuffled a bit, but eventually came up with an answer. “Honestly, Papa and us, dhe children. Vhe vhould let Mama rest for dhe day and take care of her charity vhork for her. She vhould soak in dhe tub and cook and vhatever else she liked to do in relax for dhe day, vhe vhould pass out food or vhork for dhose she served. Dhat vhay, her duties vere done and she didn’t have to vhorry.”
Famine did not have the same hesitation, waiting mere seconds beore picking up the slack. “Mama had somet’ing of a tank she vhas building, but never had dhe time to ot’ervhise. Papa vhould handle her ot’er jobs, if dhey veren’t too much for him. I vhould vhork vhit’ her on her tank, so she could have some company.”

who takes longer showers? Technically War. Mostly because she can’t take a shower without assistance and instead ends up soaking in a bath.
how do they make up after a fight? After a big one, there’s typically a strange oppressive silence alongside distance. Thad typically buries himself in work to keep his mind off things, War just kind of seethes in a space alone until she’s calmed enough to initiate contact again in silent, sincere, apologetic cuddling.
who prefers rain and who prefers sun? To be fair, neither one has experienced either. But I can guess that if they had, both would be rain people.
what’s their favorite place to go together? Since neither one is very big on social affairs unless necessary, the couch in his private living space is usually the favored.
who’s more likely to be voted prom king/queen? That’s a hard one, seeing as how even though they’re not the social sort, both of them are charismatic in their own ways and have equal chance of winning.
do they celebrate anniversaries, etc.? War tries, Thad typically forgets. Unless it comes to the kids’ birthdays, then she actively drags him in to it.
who’d pressure the other into singing karaoke? War is the pressuring party, there is no doubt about that. Now whether or not she actually succeeds. That is an entirely different story.
what’s their nightly routine? This depends on whether or not Thad’s working on something important or if she manages to draw him away from the monotony with promises of a physically sensual nature. If he refuses such, she’ll flop on one of the seats in the front overlook. If she’s been there a few days and the immediate need for carnal intimacies has already been sated, she typically can drag him away to actually sleep, where shared bathing and nightly hygiene comes into play using him as support the whole way [she refuses the braces after a certain point, stubbornly ignoring them even when he tries to offer returning them]. A short wrestle with her mane to tame it enough to brush it back before bedding in, a few small kisses to last until morning. Some time during the night, she’ll start snuggling up next to him and receive an absent-minded return.
who’s more likely to burn dinner? War blows up the kitchen when she tries. Thad admits to not feeling like cooking. All in all, he keeps her out of it and leaves it to a hired kitchen staff.

Oh. Uhm, hello there!
Hey Anya, your eye is like Stanley's from ask-minecraftworld. Maybe you should talk to him sometime!
"Oh." She rubbed her only visible eye, before putting her hand down and smiling. "Maybe I will talk to him someday."
