my pancake guy is so sassy I'm sobbing
the vacker legacy
I think Keefe needs to rethink the situation with Alvar. Because it technically could affect far more people than just himself.
In Unraveled, it's basically presented to us that Keefe "reluctantly" allows Alvar to help him. Alvar is familiar with the whole "lost my ability" thing, so Keefe could use some counsel from him - perhaps. (Then again, do we really trust Alvar? I mean, yes, as a fandom, I think we do, but should we? Should Keefe??) However, most of Alvar's role seems to be convincing Keefe to break free and do his own thing, etc.
But here's the thing. This whole partnership - or whatever it is - affects more than just Keefe, and I don't think Keefe is thinking about that very much. First of all, it affects Fitz and Biana - and Fitz is supposed to be Keefe's best friend. Keefe does kind of owe it to Alvar to keep their partnership secret - but doesn't he have a much greater obligation to his best friend? Alvar could still be dangerous - especially once he gets his ability back!
Also, Keefe owes it to Sophie to tell about what's been going on. I believe Sophie already found out Keefe had been talking to Alvar, but this is really important. Sophie and Keefe want to start a romantic relationship. If Sophie is going to be Keefe's girlfriend, he ought to tell her what he knows about this dangerous frenemy (mostly enemy - this is a guy who helped kidnap her!)
And further still, Keefe really ought to tell the Council. I know the Council isn't always the protagonists' friend - but this thing with Alvar is very much of interest to the entity which more or less runs the Lost Cities. Alvar was part of the group that was the Council's biggest, most dangerous nemesis. I mean, the Neverseen still is one of their biggest enemies. They would definitely want to know what's up with Alvar.
Maybe the Neverseen has ditched Alvar, but to the Council and the Black Swan, he is still relevant! He still is a wanted criminal. He was in all that drama with the "Vacker legacy," which definitely has implications in the sphere of social politics, if nothing else. But even if Alvar is in the human world, that still doesn't make him irrelevant. The Council and the Black Swan need to monitor what interaction there is between the Lost Cities and the Forbidden Cities. If they want to stay concealed, they would absolutely be concerned about one of their own walking free in the human world, with no loyalty to either organization which would keep him from revealing everything about the elves. With that, he could start his own organization, his own rebellion, his own dangerous force. And that could put everybody Keefe loves in danger real fast.
I'm just saying, Keefe has a secret with much bigger implications than he's considering, I think. Yes, he has some loyalty to Alvar, some debt to him to stay silent. But how much bigger of a responsibility does Keefe have to literally everyone else? He needs to think beyond himself.
Oh, Dragon Elders designs from Spyro Reigneited, my absolute beloved!! <3 <3 <3
I just felt in a mood to practice drawing these stunning guys, including throwing a few facial expression practices in the mix, so that's how we ended up with these doodles. I included both dragons that were suggested and a few random elders that i feel like don't get appreciated enough, so here you go!

I have two headcanons for Alvar afterbook 9.5:
•the first is that Alvar started to do ice hockey and then he meet a man who was playing in the same team, they ended up together even if they started at the beggining to be ennemies: ennemies to lovers
•the second is that of we ignore the first headcannon, he retired in a farm and do horse ridding, he has a wife who know his past. He love feeding baby goat.
A reference for Alvar, the retired soldier turned mentor :D
