been rewatching trollhunters recently and needed to say that ive been actively looking up your art for it because i remembered loving it so much when the show was first coming out so yeah just wanna say thanks for the lovely art 😭 jim is one of my all time comfort characters and trollhunters is so beloved to me, and i associate your art with it so heavily

Also ik you're probably very busy but have you detailed the process for turning your traditional art into a format you can edit and post digitally anywhere? How do you do that :0

Hi!! doin ok today <3 ty for asking :)

I actually haven't tried explaining that before but I'm gonna try now!

(The fun part is how I never know what the final layouts gonna be like until the very end, its like a mysterious puzzle )

For starters I always do this process on procreate on my iPad, its just the most convenient to me.

1) Photograph your drawings! Aim for even lighting and get close enough to the drawings so that you wont have to crop in and lower the quality.

2) I then import all the photos of my drawings that I plan to compile into the procreate document - take this guy, here's what his base photo looks like:

3) Then - one at at time using the selection tool : automatic I select the outer page color and drag back and forth till the selection is something that preserves my lines but also retains some of the paper too ! Because i have a lot of broken lines in my work its really fun to see what happens with this.

4) Then! if the lighting was not the most ideal in my original photo, (if the papers too dark or the lines aren't dark enough) I go into curves and mess around a little bit until I like the contrast. :)

Then! i just play around and see if the drawings I wanna include fit together - sometimes to make sure they flow I might digitally draw in something like an arm.

Bonus: Occasionally I might wanna spice up the composition a little further so ... On a new layer fully filled with the paintbucket tool, ill then mess around with blending modes, often landing on either Overlay or Vivid Light to tint everything.

Final touch: just in my own preference, I like to add a little border :)
