"Oh, stop fussing! I'm just taking her over to see him!"
Boots batted Keys' hands away, giving him a frustrated look.
"Oww! But, Dana..."
The small robot fretted, as he watched her lift the baby from her crib, and gently set her into the sling she'd been using to get around with her easier.
"Keys, we will be fine. I promise."
She kissed his cheek, smirking when his face lit up pink.
"Now please, go rest. God knows you've been running yourself ragged. You know we can call if we need you."
She was out the nursery door before he could say another word. He followed just in time to see her go through the door and disappear. At least he knew this portal took her to a safe place.
On the other side, Boots found herself in a familiar attic, and hobbled over to the stairs. No way she was taking them alone. Not just yet.
"Hello? Anybody home, down there?"
