My kids love to joke with me about taking photos with my mind, instead of with my gear. "Just remember it and draw it later," they say as I am stopping every 2 feet to photograph a blade of grass, dust mote, or cloud formation. It also makes them giggle when I say to a tree, rock, or body of water, "May I take your photo?" For me it's about permission and consent. Everything has energy and feelings. All things are alive on this planet, none of us "owns" another...or anything else in the Cosmos. Creativity comes from a Sacred Well within us, and it nurtures us all -- providing nourishment for our entire being. - Friends, I have sat around worrying about my art for too long. Yes, it takes as long as it takes, but sometimes there is baggage that weighs you down. Also, honestly, I gave up a lot of time to things that took me away from what I love (pro-tip: comparison is really the thief of joy). - In short, minus all the saccharine platitudes, I say this: you, for real, only have one life to live in this incarnation. Do the things, heal the wounds, love everything and everybody. Stop acting like the Cosmos owes you something. Help others who are dealing with struggle. BE REAL. Personal responsibility is good, practice it daily. - (Picture shared with permission of subject) -*- #photographer #world #life #cosmos #askpermission #consentisagoodthing #image #freckles #thursday #instagood #imagery #bereal #beherenow #thekimboburlytales https://www.instagram.com/p/B1d01zJHRB3/?igshid=11hovn232bxle
