#asks about wolves

This is kind of random but I started re-reading Wolves of the North the other day and it reminded me of something I always wondered about, was there going to a western kingdom?

A western kingdom was referenced in like...chapter twelve?  The numbering is off on AO3, but it’s the chapter where it’s revealed that Levi is on his way.  It’s a one line reference and it’s brought up again as pretty much a one line reference in Flames in the East.  It absolutely exists in the continuity of the story (can’t set up countries for only three of the cardinal directions), but it wasn’t a kingdom I ever really fleshed out or even thought about.  It’s one of the unfortunate hand wave-y things I’ve written over the years...

aahh!! i just finished wolves of the north and it was so good! brought a tear to my eye. you're one of my biggest role models in writing and that fanfic was the best ive ever read. it was very emotional and very well written.

Thank you very much for this, and I’m glad you enjoyed it so much!  I woke up to it in my inbox and it made my morning start off on a really nice note.  And while SNK is not in my wheelhouse anymore, I am still very proud of how Wolves turned out and how much people enjoyed it.  :)

now that the pups are older do they have their own rooms in the castle or do they still share one with their moms?

They’ve got their own now!  Once pups hit four or five and they feel comfortable with sleeping in their own rooms, they get rooms.  Matvey and Ginko room together in a bunkbed configuration (Reiner was so jazzed to build them one) and Adhara is by herself.  She sneaks into their room to sleep in one of their beds a lot, though, favoring the top bunk.  Since Matvey and Ginko switch between the bunks for fairness’s sake, they both get cuddles.

I recently started sketching and doodling again after getting back into my writing. I read your story and when I was reading it, my hands were itching to sketch something. I'm thinking about doing strips of some parts from Wolves of the North. Do you think I could send it to you after I finish them if I do them?

Absolutely!  I always love seeing anything and everything people create from my stories!

Do you think Adhara gets jealous, like how typical little kids do if someone else is hanging around their parents or someone they wanna play with? I was watching my niece who is five and it got me thinking.

Oh my god, there were some days when Adhara was still only about five years old where she would just be so upset if people kept her away from playing with Matvey or Ginko.  She would sit in her wolf form and whimper-cry if she was told that Matvey/Ginko had to go do something with someone else and she couldn’t go with.

Christa and Ymir had it the worst though.  Adhara would sneak into wherever they were working and hold onto some item of their clothing.  It didn’t matter if some officious business with people, so would just slip into the room, usually in her wolf form, get a skirt or pant leg gently in her mouth, and just sit.  If someone had to have her moms’ attention, then she should at least get their subconscious attention.

Is Piglet's dislike of rain what inspired the difficulty young wolves have with it in WotN?

Nah, wolf pups have trouble with rain strictly on an auditory basis when they try to sleep.  They love the rain when they’re awake.  Piglet’s the inverse: she can sleep through it like a brick, but she hates hearing it when she’s awake.

*quietly makes half a dozen terrible ocs to insert in really weird au fics based on your wolves because I love non-human characters and the wolves are my favorite wolf-based non-humans /ever/*

Anon, that’s not terrible, that’s great!  The Wolves universe is ripe for people to play in and I’m 100% behind it!  I hope you really have fun writing your new OCs, who I sincerely doubt are terrible!

I have a question in wolves of the north you had Mikasa and Reiner arm wrestle but Mikasa was human so Reiner won because of his wolf strength so because Mikasa was turned who would win in an arm wrestle Reiner or Mikasa?

That is something Reiner would not want me to answer.  ;)
