Random question: What's your favourite headcanon for:

Oh, this is a fun (and kinda hard) question. I actually had to think about it for Steve and Natasha, but Sam's instantly came to me. So, we're going to start with him first. 😊

Sam Wilson

This is a man who loves to cook, and I mean, more than the 'typical' backyard barbecuing though he's good at that as well. Growing up in Louisiana, he also knows how to cook/prep so, so many seafood dishes and other dishes from his years in the military. Whenever he had downtime, he was seeking out different dishes to try and perfect because he wasn't going to eat MREs when he had the chance and choice.

But, Sam's also a humble man who will love any food that is cooked for him, too, even if it means it's not as good as his or even edible by most people's standards. If it comes from a place of love and care, he's going to eat and pretend it's the best meal he's ever had. Sure, he might be seeking some of his own leftovers or even some good takeout later, but he's going to be happy with the fact someone made him something. After all, one of his favorite ways to care for people in his life is to cook for them. Just expect some light teasing from him even as he offers to help boost that person's skills up a bit more.

Natasha Romanoff

I really do believe that if she hadn't been raised for the assassin game, she would've probably found herself in some of hospitality/high-end concierge-type of job. She's a woman that always has what others need either on her or a way to get it for them. Whether you need a stick of gum to an ass-kicking to finding your future great love, she's the one that's going to make sure you get it. With this innate ability to get everyone what they need, she's also able to blend into the background whenever she needs to, playing the support to others and keeping track of all the finer details, especially for the people in her care.

But, this can also be a lonely existence as she's always doing what she can for others' needs. A lot of the time, hers are ignored, even by Natasha herself. Usually it's not that big of a deal for her, but there are quieter moments where her thoughts tend to get loud and yeah, she's realizing she could use someone (and not necessarily romantic but platonic) who truly sees her and wants to be the shoulder she can lean on. Be the one who has it all handled so she doesn't have to be the strong one for once.

Steve Rogers

We all know that he's always down for the big fights against the greatest threats to people's freedom. Those are absolutely necessary fights for him, too, but the reward of a job well done never lasts that long. Not because it's not important but because there's always going to be another threat to come along soon enough.

No, the highest reward he's gotten didn't come from these big fights with his fellow Avengers. It's the little ones where he's helping the neighborhood kids who're on the smaller side learning to defend themselves. He sees them and is reminded of his once-smaller and sickly state. He's reminded of Bucky's protective streak and even his mother's wise words about always standing back up.

He actually fell upon this new vocation after meeting Sam in DC and realizing he does need to figure out who he is again. So, he starts small, but it soon becomes widely known in the neighborhood where he lives that he's teaching self-defense and other fighting techniques meant to defend yourself and others, not to be used against others unprovoked. He's quick to put down that second one when he learns about it, and it's his way of honoring those who've helped him in the past and even get back to his roots in that smaller, sickly state he once lived in.

All he's missing is someone who sees these efforts and appreciates him for them (even more so than the bigger fights he's been in).

I love a good friends to lovers fic. Might be because hubby and I were in the same friend group before getting together. Something about the comfort of knowing and enjoying being around each other outside the spicy stuff gives me the warm fuzzies.

Friends to Lovers is such a good trope, Nonnie. It's definitely in my top 5 for sure. I love, love, love that how's you and your hubby got together. I'm always down to read (and write) this trope because it almost guarantees the warm fuzzies.

Don't worry. You didn't. This is a completely new account. Deleted my old one about a month or so ago. Needed the clean break and just dipping my toes back into Tumblr again.

Absolute best ice cream flavor = Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough (almost any brand/variation)

Quite close runner-up = Neapolitan (but quite picky on the brand)

So happy to see you back! Love reading about Alpha Jake and Beta Steve again. Not a pairing see much of, and you make them so cute.

I'm glad to be back, too, Nonnie. Just can't seem to stay away from Tumblr.

They are one of my all-time favorite pairings, and I promise we'll be visiting them again soon enough. I have so much more planned for them and I'm looking forward to bringing that about. Jake and Steve are quite rare to see for sure, but they work well together.

I may or may not also be courting an idea of a Jake x Steve x Curtis trio with a reader, but that's still very much in the planning phase. 😉
