Don't Leave Me!: Your muse is dying in my muses arms and mine is frantic, doesn't want to lose you, and doesn't know what to do about it.
It was eight at night and Alana Bloom was walking the streets of Baltimore Maryland with her friend and Colleague, Hannibal Lecter. It was a month after Will Graham had been placed in jail for his acts as the copy cat ripper. Alana was still trying to prove he was innocent but the stories she preached fell upon deaf ears. Jack would hear none of what she had to say.
"The killings stopped after we put him in jail Alana, and along with the other evidence what more do you need?" Alana recalled Jack saying this to her earlier that morning. But deep down she knew he was innocent, he had to be. Hannibal, seeing how stressed Alana was decided he was going to take Alana out for the night and try to get her mind off of everything.
There was a slight mist in the air and Alana’s heels clacked on the pavement as they wandered the streets.
"Where are we going?" Alana asked just realizing she hadn’t even bothered to ask Hannibal when he proposed the idea that they go out.
"We are going to a small restaurant on the corner of Maple Street. It plays nice music and the food is exquisite, I thought you might like it." Hannibal said as they rounded the corner. Alana looked up at the pale green street sign that read Stacy road. That was only three streets away from Maple Street, Alana thought to herself.
Crack
"Did you hear that?" Alana asked whipping around to figure out the source of the noise. There was an eerie feeling in the air but Alana tried to brush it off, it’s nothing, it’s nothing. Alana repeated this in her head a few times before Hannibal snapped her back into reality
"There’s nothing there Alana, stop worrying so much, it’s not good for you. Come now, we’re almost at the restaurant"
"Okay.." Alana trailed off, still feeling uneasy. As they approached the restaurant the feelings that something was wrong only continued to grow. At this point Alana was trying to keep herself from having a panic attack. *ring ring, ring ring* Alana nearly fell over, it gave her such a shock.
"If you’ll excuse me I’ll have to take this call" Hannibal said crossing the street to answer whoever was calling. Alana waited feeling anxious as she scanned the area. She took a few deep breaths, I’m fine, I’m fine she repeated in her head over and over. Out of no where a man in a black hoodie with matching black skinny jeans and a ski mask pulled Alana into the alley behind a tall dirty old building.
"Give me your money" The man said breathing heavily into Alana’s ear. Alana felt something hard hit the back of her head, presumably a gun of some sort.
"I don’t have any money on me" Alana replied, trying to keep her voice steady. She was telling the truth though. Hannibal had told her not to bring her cell phone or her money. Her cell phone would be a distraction to the plans according to Hannibal, and he wanted to pay for the night as well. Alana protested of course but Hannibal was just as stubborn, if not more, as Alana.
"No money huh?" The man laughed “I guess we’ll just have to figure out something else then" He finished saying as he brutally shoved Alana down on her knees. Alana felt a sharp pain on the back of her neck. She reached up to touch it and pulled her hand in front of her eyes, red. She was bleeding. The man must have some kind of knife with him as well.
"You don’t have to do this" Alana pleaded trying to stall. Where was Hannibal? Why hadn’t he noticed she was gone by now? “I don’t have anything to give you so why do this?"
"Why not?" The man replied darkly. The man sunk the blade into Alana’s side. She let out a loud scream but was quickly quieted as the man slapped a hand over her mouth.
"Be quiet bitch" The man scolded. There isn’t anyone here who can help you now. Alana took a few deep breaths realizing that this may be the end of it for her. The man sunk the knife into her stomach over and over again. Just when Alana thought the pain would never stop she heard a faint voice, or maybe they were screaming everything was fuzzy at this point.
"Hey, leave her alone!" The voice said. Alana heard the man scatter off and another pair of footsteps appeared to be coming closer. Her hero bent down over her face
"Alana?, Alana!" The voice said panicked, the face came into focus and the voice registered in Alana’s head finally. It was Hannibal who was here standing in front of her. But something was wrong. Hannibal was panicked, Hannibal never panicked.
"Hannibal, what’s wrong?" Alana asked groggily. Hannibal’s eyes darted to her stomach and Alana’s eyes followed his gaze. She started to breath heavily and her eyes widened in fear at the sight. There was blood, everywhere. Hannibal quickly ripped off his jacket and laid it over her stomach, blocking the gruesome scene.
"Hannibal.."Alana trailed off, she was going to ask him how bad it was. But inside she knew, she knew she was going to die.Hannibal pulled Alana into his lap. There were tears in his eyes and he looked distraught. This only made Alana more scared, she had never seen Hannibal like this before. It must really be bad for him to be acting like this.
"Hannibal, you have to" Alana took a deep breath “You have to prove Will innocent. I know you have your doubts but trust me he’s innocent. Please you have to do it" Alana’s voice broke off and she was now sobbing. Hannibal held her in his arms and tried to comfort her the best way he could. Hannibal was usually calm and collected but he never expected this. Hannibal was used to being in control and planning every exact detail. This wasn’t supposed to be Alana’s life, this wasn’t supposed to be her death.
The rain finally started to fall, then it poured. The blood mixed with the rain and began to run in all directions covering Hannibal in Alana’s blood. Alana’s sobs were masked by the sound of the rain slamming onto the rooftops and the pavement. Alana took one last look into Hannibal’s eyes and whispered
"Please help Will Graham" Hannibal shortly nodded his head as he tried to hold back his tears. His friend and colleague was gone, it wasn’t supposed to happen like this. It wasn’t supposed to be like this.
