I get a lot of messages like this in my inbox and I just wanna say, even if I don't reply I hang onto them to look at, it always means so much to me to know I've inspired so many folks or that my art has resonated with them, keeps me wanting to create and share despite the hard times <3

Yes I am a big shark fan! I kinda distanced myself from drawing sharks because I was SAD over the state of conservation (and complicated feelings towards shark characters after breakup lol), but have been getting that passion back recently. Re: Mayhem, not entirely! She already had a design established but I guess I gave her a "fresh coat of paint" with my art style and refined/experimented with some things as time went on. I did give her a redesign in 2012 and 2013 but idk if that was ever posted publicly?

Mischief and Fracas I designed myself, though.

I have more Mischief art WIPs atm and will hopefully find the time to finish them soonish...

May I use ur raptor drawings as reference for a raptor character I'm drawing?

Sure! Folks are fine to use my art as reference (although I always encourage using MANY references), just please give me credit if you heavily reference anything (ie a redraw), that's all I ask!

If you don't mind me asking, why aren't you allowed to post it and what sort of design work are you doing? (Different anon, just genuinely curious)

I’m under NDA :( I do a wide variety of concept work for a toy company! And unfortunately, due to the competitive nature of the toy industry, I’m not allowed to share *anything* even products that didn’t get made. It’s a huge bummer because I’ve done some really cool stuff but alas.

Are you ok with fanart of your OCs/sonas? Also! do you have any like galleries with ref sheets of your OCs/sonas?

Absolutely!! I love getting art- it’s the most meaningful thing to me! My toyhouse would be the best place for that 💖

How are you faring so far in 2020?

All things considered, I’m doing okay.

Very honestly, 2019 was such a hell year for me that 2020 doesn’t seem so bad in comparison, which says a lot about my state a year ago. That said, there’s definitely been challenges considering *gestures vaguely* everything going on in the world.

I have a decently stable income, I have health insurance, my living situation is good, I love my pets, my best friend is my roommate now, and I have a few close friends I can see safely.

I haven’t been able to see my long-term girlfriend aside from a very short 3 day visit on Halloween which is really really tough... I guess mostly the social aspect has been hard. Not seeing family, not having all my social needs met, etc. Oh, and I can’t do in-person therapy which realllyyyy sucks.

But I’m doing ok and have a LOT to be grateful for!

This is mostly to satisfy the "send me an ask" request -- do you prefer working with / posting to tumblr or twitter? I follow you on both.

I honestly hate twitter but I post there because it seems to be the most ‘active’ place to share my work. But I’m trying to consistently upload to here, twitter, instagram, DA and FA- tumblr is probably the platform I’ll be the most personable on cuz I get sooo overwhelmed elsewhere

Hey squeege! I’ve wanted to send u a thank you for a while. Your art was v inspiring to me when I first got on tumblr. I started drawing by copying your dino drawings onto a lined notebook with a pen when I was about 12/13. (I still have those old sketchbooks lol) I’m 18 now and I’m super happy with how my artwork progressed! I certainly don’t have to copy others anymore lmao. I never would have gotten this far without ur old dinosaurs sitting in my 7th grade notebooks. Anyways, thanks for being an awesome artist! I look forward to ur work in the future :))

Wow, this means a lot!! Seriously I cannot ever express how amazing it is to be told I was part of someone’s artistic development ahhh <3

This is also why I don’t discourage tracing or get mad when ppl reference my art- I used to do the same thing when I was 12/13 and it helped me grow as an artist and it’s really incredible that I could be that for someone else. 

I’m so glad to hear you’re happy with how your art’s evolved, that’s awesome!
