The day had gone from bad to worse; from Tanza’s near-death experience, to the revelation of Izen’s identity and the destruction of every last one of Izen’s plans. The night descended like the estranged father’s mood and despite the beauty all around him, Izen saw none of it, until an unfortunate rock had the poor luck of colliding with his foot. Out of the blue, his odd acquaintance, the enderfemme known as Crow, appeared to him, her voice filled with concern. “....Izen?”
