Me again. May I ask you how you went about practicing drawing? At the moment I've been practicing the human body for a few months and I haven't made a whole ton of progress, which is kind of frustrating :/
Oh! Well, you don’t have to worry too much about that, my first two or so years were filled with drawings that didn’t improve at all. But, now that i look at it, I realised that that time was just me building up muscle memory.
I personally started off joining a group on DA which focused on teaching people how to draw manga. I found that having to do weekly tasks (practicing anatomy, hands etc.) as well as having people to tell you where to improve really helped.
What I found to be useful when I first started drawing is copying other drawings (mainly anatomical) until I my hand knew how to draw the right shapes easily and automatically. Then I would draw it again without copying and ask for other people’s opinions about how to improve and I repeat the process, keeping their opinions in mind.
Basically, what I mean is to draw constantly and consistently and ask people for help~ You might not think you’ve made progress but i assure you it builds up over time.
And, if you ever do need help, you can feel free to ask me, I’m not busy yet u//u
