Things Left Undone || Ivy x Liv
It had been some time since this particular note book had been pulled out. Several months to be precise. With a sigh, Liv took the book off the shelf and started to peruse the pages. A soft smile touched her lips as she flipped through. The formulas for so many potions and serums were contained within the pages, the vast majority of them being complete, finished, and something that she knew by rote. The actual recipes for most of these were unnecessary now for her to create the finished product, as evidenced by the phials and small jars that lined some of the shelves within her basement.
The smile fell away as she reached that one page. Well, that one series of pages, really. Running a hand through her hair that stopped at the back of her head and pulled briefly at the long locks, she sighed.
The potion was intended to be a far more powerful version of the healing elixir she’d already devised, but the challenge was in getting a shelf life longer than two to three minutes. And, of course, actually making it be more potent than what she already had. Every combination of ingredients had thus far failed. Which just didn’t make any sense to her as the other potion worked just fine, and had a fairly decent shelf life.
Naturally, the effects degraded over time until eventually there would be no healing power within the potion at all, but it took some time. Think Liv, think! There’s got to be something you’re missing! From upstairs, she could hear Mum calling her to tea, but it registered more as an afterthought as she focused hard on the task at hand. She needed to finish this recipe. Recent business partnerships aside, if actually completed, this product could be incredibly helpful to the Council and its current conflict with the fomor.
Groaning with frustration, Liv’s head dropped so that her head hit the notebook, as if the light impact would knock something loose within her brain that would be helpful.
