Hello. I would like to ask (sorry if you answered this already), if we are looking at the scene where daenerys opens the door for jon and bran's voice says "he loved her, and she loved him" from jonsa pov, the choosing of the shots and timing of bran's words, what does it mean? Is this bc jon has real feelings for her? Or is this to mislead people? I am confused.

Hi! This is a great ask and I’ll do my best to answer for you.

In my opinion, based on a long time working in film and theatre as a director(man I’m old lol), the way the scene is shot has an ominous feel overall. Specifically speaking to the voiceover by Bran I think we’re seeing this as a warning. Lyanna and Rheagar did not end well, it is also my belief that it was not a grand love story either. It caused the death of Lyanna and a massive revolution in the country killing hundreds of thousands of people. It also in a roundabout way caused the rise of Cersei and Dany’s rampage of descrution to “reclaim” the Iron Throne. In a roundabout why it is the cause of dragons back in the world.

So here we have Bran’s voiceover which is not filled with great news for Dany OR Jon, juxtaposed with scenes of Lyanna in a pool of blood, dying and Jon and Dany together(which is a lackluster directing job if it’s meant to be this romantic, grand love scene). I think the lines are more to reference the feelings - or what Bran believes to be the feelings- of Lyanna and Rheagar. Not Jon and Dany. If the latter was the case the lines and the parentage reveal would have been written and shot differently. (I think Lyanna may have loved Rheagar but she was young and impressionable. Rheagar was taken with Lyanna to be sure but she was more of a means to his prophecy fulfillment.)

I can definitely see how Jonsa makes sense as endgame. Honestly, their chemistry made me really uncomfortable at first, and I had to keep reminding myself they were siblings. Danny and Jon on the other hand were awkward and not in a good way. Unfortunately, I’m still thinking that Danny/Jon may be endgame regardless of not making sense story wise because of their popularity and the desire for the show to make money after the finale. Do you think this will impact the way the TV story ends?

Thanks for the great ask! Honestly, I doubt either will be endgame. GoT isn’t really about the happy ending. Jonsa makes more sense politically if Jon ends up with the Iron Throne (I don’t think there will even be a Throne to sit on by the end of this tbh) because he would need to ally himself with the North and Sansa is the key to the North. The book and the show make a really big deal of reminding us over and over of that fact.  Once the R+L=J becomes public knowledge I think we will see a serious breakdown in the Danny and Jon relationship, one in terms of the feelings I believe Danny has for him and two in terms of who has the stronger claim to the throne.(Which is Jon as the male direct heir) We know that GRRM based his story loosely on the War of the Roses which means if he follows that timeline to the end we should see a Jon and Sansa marriage along the lines of Henry VII and Elizabeth of York. 

In terms of money being the driving force between a Jonsa endgame or a Dany/Jon endgame I doubt it’s really all that much of a factor. Think of some of the hugely popular HBO shows that have had endings that didn’t give the GA want ‘they wanted’ Sopranos and Boardwalk Empire come to mind. That didn’t stop HBO from created works that twisted the audience in knots and they still make money off them. GoT is a cash cow no doubt but personally I think the bottom line won’t be all that affected by some people being upset that Jon doesn’t end up with Dany or Jon doesn’t’ end up with Sansa. I think that there are more viewers out there that don’t actually care about either of those topics as they watch the show then there are of us that do. 

And of course the biggest factor of them all is GRRM himself. Both Ds and GRRM have stated that the TV show will end the same way the books will. They just might take different paths to get there. It is likely in GRRM’s contract that D&D CAN NOT divert from his final ending. (I know screenwriters/novelists who have absolutely demanded it when selling the rights to their work) 

So I guess in a round about way I’ve answered your ask. No I don’t really think the threat of loss of money, from a series that is already ending, has or will influence D&D to the point they leave Jon and Dany together. If we see a Jon and Dany endgame it is because that is how GRRM intended the show to end. Same with Jonsa. 

On a personal note,I just want Jon and Sansa to make it to the end, safe and happy, preferably together as a ruling couple, but if not as long as they are safe and happy.

Hello! Quick question, a friend of mine told me that he read a blog about the ending scene of S7, were the wall was destroyed by the Night King. The blog was about how the destruction of the wall has not happened yet but will most likely happen in the ending scene of S8 E1. Do you think there's a possibility that it might happen like that? Hi! I’m not really sure what your friend is talking about. In the script for the last episode of s7 we have a huge breach being cut into the Wall by Ice Viseron. He also inflicts a lot of damage over the course of the screen. I think it’s pretty much implied that the Wall is falling here. Below is the section in the actual script and it pretty much coincides with what we see on the screen. I guess it would be possible that we see the entire wall fall at sometime during next season but it wouldn’t really make much sense cinematically. We’ve already had the shock factor by Viseron blasting through a huge section with ice fire and seeing the Walkers breach that section. Any more would be overkill thematically. But you never know! We very well could see the whole thing fall in s8 as part of the battle between the Walkers and everyone else.
