// What direction do you predict any potential Noxus retcon going, concerning society, military, and leadership, in the shadow of the recent Demacia retcon that focused on an identity of close knit isolationists with excellent, highly trained soldiers?
I believe that the way that Riot is taking this, Demacia’s staunch anti-magic stance is partially inspired by Noxus’ careless misuse of magic? And seeing what happened to the Blessed isles, one can see why they’d be wary of it. Noxus has always never had any scruples when it comes to maintaining strength and power, even through “forbidden” magics, like Necromancy.
What I’m thinking is that Riot will push the “Tyrannical, militaristic government that will stop at nothing for power”, particularly through the use of magic. It’d be interesting to see a Grand general last for hundreds of years, simply through the use of magic. A false immortality, if you will.
But I don’t believe that all Noxians would fall into line that easily. Some would surely view it as a false strength, that they’re bolstering their power through magic. It’s cheating, basically. But I believe that they will push the magic factor into Noxus, so it can be Demacia’s foil in a way. And I’d be really surprised if they didn’t. Though, I’d be really interested in an internal moral dilemma within Noxus, particularly the whole Magic vs Anti-magic debate.
This also brings me to a point that I’ve always found curious when it comes to Noxus. And that is their cutthroat ideology clashing with their apparent military might. When you’re urged to distrust your fellow soldier, how can you really forge any real trust among brothers in arms? Moreso, how can you organize such a large army?
Then again, to the higher ranks of Noxian forces, this distrust would be beneficial as it would discourage any real revolution-- simply because the people would find it incredibly difficult to unite under any cause. And I really hope that riot addresses this with their Noxus rework.
