I know This is late by one month, but I want to know about the redsnake canyon princess and Lamaian dancer.
It’s never too late! I’m happy to explain. The Redsnake Canyons in Wokina are populated by various tribes of ogres. They all originated from the same tribe at first, so they share a lot of customs and aesthetics, and pretty much only war with eachother for resources even though they’re almost culturally identical.
All of these tribes are female-dominated societies. The largest, strongest female becomes the queen, and her first-born daughter becomes princess. These two women have the most power in the tribe, and what they say goes. What’s unique about the princess is that she doesn’t automatically inherit the throne when her mother dies. Instead, she has to engage a female challenger in combat at her mother’s funeral, and if she wins, then she becomes queen. If she loses, the challenger becomes queen and the challenger’s daughter takes the old princess’s place.
The princess decorates herself in leather dyed red with the blood of her enemies, and jewelry made of bones of those she’s killed.
As for the Lamaian dancer...Lamai Nation is hugely into dragon worship. They have a lot of festivals and holidays honoring them, and dancers are crucial to these celebrations. Not only do they inspire energy and fervor, but they incorporate dance into their magical rituals as well. Sometimes spells require the caster to sing in certain tones or dance in a specific way. (for example, Mr. Ocean performs a rain dance to change the weather. Undine also sing songs to cast spells.)
Lamaian dancers have a lot of practice in this, and they can make any ritual go off without a hitch. They decorate themselves in colorful dragon feathers to honor the beasts, who they consider their guardians.
Now you may be asking “How the hell does a snake-person dance?” and the answer is...wiggle wiggle wiggle, baby!!
