“No no, I promise they’ll be here soon… just give him a couple more minutes,” Emma spoke with what she hoped was a convincing smile to the waiter that didn’t seem to believe her for a second. Having been there for a good half hour by this point, Emma wasn’t exactly all that willing to admit that she had been stood up. Surely there was some issue with traffic… or perhaps it was just her pride talking that had her insisting to wait for just a little bit longer. She always had been far too prideful for her own good, no matter what form it came in.

“I’m sorry ma’am, but if you don’t order something we’re going to have to ask you to give up your table for other customers,” the man was clearly regretful in saying such a thing… and quite honestly Emma hated that pity that showed in the man’s face. God if there was anything she hated more… it was that look right there…

I hope this doesn’t come off as weird,

When I’m writing it’s hard for me to make things clear.

I’m writing this in hope that it’ll help you feel better,

But I think now it’s time I close my letter.
