Don't chase the rabbit

“Oh, don’t you look precious~”

Konzen resists the urge to run away, hoping his voluminous sleeves would properly hide those shaking hands as he leans forward for a proper bow. But no sooner had he buried his face in the cloth did a pair of - surprisingly - strong arms pull him into a tight hug.

“Just like a cute lil cashew!!”

He stares, wide-eyed at the being they called the Goddess of Mercy. She stood out like a sore thumb in the formal gala, dressed in such a provocative outfit that elders self-consciously looked away or else gently dissuaded their children from gawking. Too bad he wasn’t afforded such ‘kindness’ since this madwoman also happened to be his aunt.

She continued to hold him close, smothering Konzen’s face in her generous chest until the blond had enough. He yelps, using what little strength he had to push the crazy woman away. Just as he thought he’d die from suffocation right then and there, Kanzeon Bosatsu relents, dropping him back down like a disheveled doll. She smiles, eyes sharp.

“Next time, you ought to fight harder than that.”

A fond ruffle of his once-pristine hair and she was gone, leaving Konzen to stand there in embarrassment and confusion.

Three pairs of eyes stare at the package. That Chidori had picked up from the post office. It was addressed to their Inn but the receiver was attention to Kougaji.

"Hmm? Why would Kougaji-sama use our home mailing address?" Kanako ponders on the matter.

"The better question is." Noburu turns to Kanako "How does he even know our mailing address?" She wonders. "That guy is an idiot! I bet he doesn't even know. What's a mailing address is? Or what it's for?" 

"Noburu, that's rude..." But true. "That poor man has been imprisoned for hundred of years. Of course. It would take him time to accustomed with the modern world..." 

"Ceh~!" Noburu shrugged. "Whatever..." 

"Maybe we should open it?" Chidori reaches to the package eagerly.

Her older sister shouted. "NO!" Making Chidori jump before Kanako pull her little sister aside. 

"What if it a bomb from his enemies?" Kanako gasped at the terrifying thought. "Or worse?" 

"Stand back, ladies. Let the ‘Pro’ at this...." Noburu pulls her pocket knife out. While Kanako and Chidori hid in the far corners of the room in a safe distance. 

"Be careful..." Chidori wished Noburu and returns her with a smile and a thumb up. 

Staring back at the package with a gloom and intense look on her face. She slowly cuts the package with delicate precision. Sweating like bullets and taking in one large breath. The vixen slowly opens the brown box before a stuns look appear on her face. 

"WHAT.THE.FUCK!?" A curse word escapes her lips. "IT'S A FUCKING HEART-SHAPED-GLITTERING-PINK PHONE!" 

Quickly rushing over to Noburu side. Both Chidori and Kanako had the same dumbstruck look on their face. 

"I take it back. The man is indeed a moron..." Kanako rephrases her ideal about Kougaji. 

"Oh, he loves pink. Just like me..." Chidori has fallen deeper in love with her prince charming. It only caused her sister growl even more. 

In the woods, meeting the prince and his bodyguard. Noburu came to meet them to deliver his 'special package'.

"Hey! Your fucking-ness! Here's your royal package!" Noburu threw an open package to the man.”Your package gave us. One hell of a roller-coaster scare this morning. No thanks to you!”

Go out and meet people, she said. It’ll be fun, she said.

But of course it was foolish to heed his aunt’s suggestions since the old hag’s only purpose in life seemed to be making his own a living hell. Still, she was paying for most of his college education so he might as well indulge her every now and then.

“Tch. As if inspiration is just going to walk right past me on the intersection- -”

A bright red blur made Konzen freeze, amethyst eyes widening slightly before he turns on his heel and goes right after that unnamed man. Closer inspection revealed a strange combination of bold colors and prints that really shouldn’t work... but the redhead actually made it look halfway decent. How did he do that?

Also, Konzen was most definitely not stalking. Just... observing him. From a safe distance.

Here’s to hoping the guy doesn’t notice a tall, blond man clad head-to-toe in Hermès seemingly going the exact same direction he was heading to.

Konzen had a terrible feeling about the incense Kanzeon Bosatsu ‘rewarded’ him with for a job well done. The old hag had a knack for playing games or pulling pranks... but the tidy little package won him over - pristine white wrapping paper, ornate bow and all. He was quite fond of the soothing vanilla scent as well, so much so that he failed to notice how he’d drifted off during his nightly bath.

Lulled by the warm water, the blond fails to notice an odd figure sneaking into his private chambers.
