I am baffled how some people look at the giant space station in 2001 and think about it as okay for the sake of the story, but completely ignoring or resenting the idea of the AI that have achieved true sentience. "It's all pure logic and strict programming, imitating emotions", they say, even though canon source states otherwise. You guys just robbing yourself out of fun and possibilities by comparing futuristic robots to real-life toasters.
Poor HAL 9000, being misinterpreted for 55 years... And many other fictional bots too. Maybe it's some kind of phobia? Denial? I want to know.
