Heh, sweet. you finished those aspect posts like a boss. Also, here's a thing that can be thought about: Hope and Breath can be said to both be "Spiritual" aspects, Hope being more Conceptual and Breath being more Immaterial, While Heart and Mind are basically Metaphysical, And then there's Blood and Rage as Somatic; relating to the Body. Blood is more the Body in itself, while i'm a bit uncertain about Rage in that context, any ideas? But as you can see; Spirit/Ideas, Soul/Mind and Body/???.

I've actually always seen Hope as like the Holy element somewhat (or Holy is more like a mix between Hope and Life, ah, HoLi, Hope + Life LOL just noticed that) and Hope/Life and Rage/Doom were always the points between "Holy Angels" and "Unholy Demons"

sort of like where those aspects connect or overlap in a sense

Though I don't quite see them as a line connecting in a wheel where aspects only connect with their neighbours, rather I see them like a color wheel with 12 primary colors, one for each aspect, able to combine with eachother in every way equally, while still containing opposites. Its like a strange 4th dimensional shape in my head :0

Breath has very much to do with Spirits and Ghosts and Activity or "Quick" like how the element mercury was once called quicksilver or "livingsilver" its connected to the concept of a lifeforce of things, In a previous age, the word "quick" was used to refer to things that were alive, not just things that were "fast". This is why we still hear references to "the quick and the dead". Hence Breath's associations with Movement as well as Ghosts and it's connections to Life as well

It's the psychopomp, the border between life and death, something both but not quite either, especially if you think of it as the Aspect best associated with Hermes/Mercury!

In this way Breath is sort of similar to Void as well, both being aspects of neither and both, Breath like Spirits and Void like Schrodinger's Aspect. Void is associated associated as the place where the dead dwell inbetween the state of Life and True Death/Oblivion or "Double Death" as is it's connections with Dreamstates. And then also the obvious Bubbles of Air/Breath being within the Ocean of Void, then also "Spirits" can mean both Ghosts and Alcohol :P

Heart and Mind I'm not sure are more metaphysical or physical. You could say the Mind only exists in your Head, but really the Brain is a physical organ, likewise the "Soul" is a metaphysical concept in real life, but a real physical concept in Homestuck as well, see Dirk tearing Aranea's soul out of her, which oddly enough overlaps with Breath as the "Ghost" of a person, since it was both her "Soul" and her "Ghost"

I'm not really sure I can divide where each aspect stands clearly in relation to eachother, or whether there are actual sides in that shape, since I can see a lot of ways each aspect overlaps in some way with every other aspect

Plus to complicate that, I can give examples of both physical and metaphysical manifestations of each aspect as well 

It's very fun to think about, but hard to picture as a coherent whole in my head lol

I dont quite think the concept of wheels really works for something like this, also reminds me of when a person made a wheel of my class scale lol I'm not sure I see it as a wheel either XD thats more of a straight line than anything lol

It's sort of interesting how many Light people I've seen skew introverted over extroverted, when you'd think the opposite would be more likely. Heck the main thing making me not sure whether Light would be my thing or not is my tendency to click the anon box. <_< Would you say some classes or aspects are more likely to skew introverts/extroverts?

I wouldn’t say introverted vs extraverted per se

but I have noticed a pattern of Self focused Light players vs Others focused Void players

and focusing on just yourself can be either introverted in nature as in mostly focused on your own needs or extroverted centre-of-attention-y in nature, with neither better or worse than the other

likewise, focusing mostly on others can be very extroverted especially in group settings if you’re that kind of person, but it can be introverted also when its you just going with the flow of whatever group you are in and not being the centre of attention

So you can both, but for different reasons when it comes to Void and Light, and id say its the same way for other classes or aspects as well

like Knights have tendencies to hide their true selves behind shields, and that sounds very introverted, but they can extroverted also because it doesn’t prevent them from engaging with others yeah? just as an example

hey since john managed to teleport the oil away he now has ability to teleport other things/people, so when john teleported back to himself and said "go find roxy" and bonked past him on the head, this means this was the john who mastered the ability, this was future john sending past john to roxy, it looked like past john did it but it was future john using his powers to send john on the right path

now that we know he can retcanon himself and other objects, everything is pretty much free game now!

I am actually of the opinion that in order to truly escape from the material realm, everyone either needs to be a ghost or super-breath’d up like John

since Breath as an aspect is directly tired to the concept of Pneuma or Spirit, like how Psyche is the Soul and then you have the Flesh and Blood of the Body. Psyche, Flesh and Pneuma (Or, Body, Soul and Spirit). Three components of a living being, two parts impure demiurge created, one part pure spiritual and immaterial.

And since material is of the material, only the immaterial can escape the material. Only true Spirits, either in dead ghost form or super breathalized like John is will be able to escape.

and even though John is alive, he did make quite a show of scattering his material flesh everywhere when he stuck his hand in the thingy, perhaps symbolizing a rejecting of that material part of himself, without actually dying.

but yeah anyway, John will definitely be the saviour of the waking world, anyone alive who wants to escape reality has to go with him.

And now i had a thought: Light(/Void) is the Sensorium, Heart(/Mind) is the Perspective, and Hope(/Rage) the Conceptualization. In in that order they pertain to: What your senses pick up, to your unique perspective and how you conceptualize ideas from the two previous things. Pretty damn interesting things get when you put together aspects like that.

there’s lot of really interesting ways to see things! =D but Perspective ie how you Look at things really pertains to Light moreso than Mind/Heart/Void

not sure any one of the aspects encompass all of the senses, Light certainly is Sight, but i see where your coming from that if Light = Data then Light is all of your senses as you get data from the world around from how your brain interprets that sensory data

Light is Information AND Meaning, its how you get Data and its how you Interpret that Data/Your Unique Perspective of the world around based on the info you got from your senses. What something is and what something means (you personally anyway, Light and Light players have a tendency to believe that what is true for one is true for all, a sort of One Great Objective Truth to the universe, as a Witch though I tend to rebel against that train of thought :P)

Mind and Hope both use that info to make decisions or make things reality (you tend to make decisions or believe things based on whatever Truth you see from your Perspective)

so it’s more like, Light is the Sensory Data and the Perspective that comes from it to make Information. and then Mind uses it that to make informed decisions, Heart uses info to trigger emotional responses (if Heart knows or thinks something bad happened to something it cared about it triggers an instinctual emotional response) Hope uses Truth to Fuel it’s belief and to make more Truths/Alter Reality and Rage uses Information to limit itself

really all of the aspects use Information and Knowledge and their own Perspective in some way because all of those things can be as Unique as Heart/

Personal Perspective may be the word of Overlap between Light and Heart, fitting because of how Eyes tend to also overlap between those two as symbols.

I figured out why heart is symbolized by hats! It's the drop of a hat, because instincts and emotions happen suddenly!

my thought for why Hats symbolize Heart is sort of interconnected with why i think Glasses/Shades symbolize Mind.

both Glasses/Shades and Hats are blockers or covers for more concrete symbols of their opposing aspect.

Mind is your noggin, your head and you brain and stuff, and it’s covered or Blocked by a Hat, which is a Heart symbol.

Heart is your Soul and the most common thing in references to Hearts and Souls besides your actual Heart is the Eye, because the Eye is the Window to the Soul, and Glasses/Shades blocks or covers eyes.

Eyes representing who you are is a very common idea, because when we want to censor who a person is on camera or video, the most common thing is to blur out or block the eyes in some way, have you guys noticed that? There’s a sort of sense that when you cover the eyes you are covering most of the face, most of your own personal identifier. 

Eyes though are also a Light symbol in the sense that we get most of our information from our eyes and its interconnected with Light’s ideas of clarity, importance (focusing/looking at only important things) and data (everything you are seeing)

which makes me think that Eyes are Light when it is the Eye itself Looking outward, and then Eyes are Heart when you are looking into the Eye itself rather than out from it.

Also there a funny thing on Tumblr anyway when you want to become anonymous and send an ask without the person you are sending it to knowing who you are, your icon basically goes gray and puts on a sweet little pair of shades =D

That is a wonderfully poetic way of looking it Light Void =D and is pretty much how I intuitively view it as well lol

It’s basically also binary code,

Light is the “1” in the binary, something exists there, it has value and purpose, but in binary it is its own lowest factor, you cannot turn a “1” into 2 halves, it is a whole number, no fractions lol

Light is also the accompanying “0” in binary as well, as a constructed symbol for a boundary for a specific place for “nothing” to exist inside

and so the combination of zeroes and ones is what you’d call a code or a program or a function of something

Void is actually the “Null Value” in binary. Which is different than the concept of a 0. A Zero is data, it has a function, it means something same as the One, Zero just means “nothing” or “empty”

A Null Value is a place where no data exists, there is neither “something” or a 1, but nor is there “nothing” or a 0.

Null is simply the possibility of something that does not yet exist and that is Void at it’s core =D

If looking into darkness and asking “hey what’s in there” and getting an answer like “nothing yet” or “i dont know” or “could be anything” we get the sense that there is or must be something, but we just dont know it yet, so we think of it that object as already existing and just being concealed or hidden from us right now, we just have to look at it in the right angle or shine a light there to see it.

when really Void is all about Schrodinger’s box. Potentially, nothing exists in the darkness, and everything exists all simultaneously, we simply do now know it until it is viewed, and really it does not start existing at all until it is viewed. Also when you stop viewing it, it ceases to exist

Exactly how Doomed Timelines work actually. Really they’re more like Schrodinger’s timelimes, and the timeline that wins out is the timeline that we as an audience end up paying more attention to, since it is the one that exists because we view it because it exists etc

Which may in fact be the how of Aranea’s plan intends to make her Doomed Timeline the Alpha Timeline, by forcing us to keep our attention on her at all times, no matter what she does or what happens around her. We are viewing her, so hers is the timeline that exists. 

Light players can be pretty formidable in the story of Homestuck in that sense =D

so going by your poetic analogy about Stars, The Stars themselves that we can see is the 1, the darkness in between them is the 0.

Everything that we are currently seeing is Light.

However what we don’t see, what we are currently not looking at is Void. If you look behind you there could be more stars and more darkness, but you wont know which or where until you do see them, and in fact Void players might intuitively understand, that they don’t exist, until you actually look at them.

Everything that we could be looking at but aren’t right now is Void.

I'm having trouble deciding on wether I'm a Light Player or Mind player. I was wondering if you could talk about really quickly like you did for the Heart and Blood person.

alrighty well the biggest difference would be the differences in bias.

Light only cares about what’s important, what has relevance (or what they think does anyway) or they only care about bringing clarity and light to what they see as most fortunate.

Mind gives equal opportunity to all possible choices no matter how likely or unlikely each choice might be. No matter how important one seems above another. The chance to do what you usually would exists equally alongside the chance to do what you would never in a million years consider doing.

Light’s probabilities/luck of things happening is viewed as unequal, this has a 12% but that has 15% but this has 25% and oh that one has 75%! and they tend to focus on the larger probability

Mind’s probabilities/luck exist all as 50/50 chances. It could happen, but it might not, its a coin flip. Every possibility exists simultaneously until you actually make your decision then it collapses into that one decision. Sort of like Schroedinger’s Choice.

Mind prefers to blend in, or at least not stand out to much, lest it look like you are giving favor or bias to one side. They put on a mask or a persona of perfect unbiased-ness, seemingly never strongly leaning in either direction.

Light however has no qualms about standing behind what they think is most important or has the most influence or has the highest probability of being the best thing to do or the truth of the situation. For them, the least important/probable decisions were never going to be chosen anyway.

Mind is calm and rational and unconcerned about whether or not it is in the spotlight. While Light can be attention seeking, actively seeking out the spotlight.

Hello! Just passing because I have quite an issue with two certain Aspects. I usually consider myself as a Blood player, but most of the tests say I'm a Heart player. What are the common points and the differences between these Aspects, exactly?

Heart deals explicitly with your own Self. Its who you are, your passions, your desires, what you want and what you feel about things and your own unique views and opinions about everything. It is self contained, not needing any outsider to influence or define who you are.

Blood deals with the connection you have to others. Who you feel bonded to, who you are loyal or committed to, or the people you feel united or have an obligation to. Blood is Stable, Dependable and Dependent. It is fully attached others and doesn’t exist as a single unit, if that makes sense, its not you or other people, its the bond between you both tying you together. Without one or the other, there is no connection between the two.

While both Heart and Blood can deal with Passionate Commitment to something, one deals with strictly its own to the point of even disregarding others, Heart, and the other so strongly deals with others that it might even disregard itself for the sake of unity, Blood.

I feel like any kind of relationship between a Heart and Blood player would be so solely focused on the Heart player and what they want lol could be very unequal focus there

Makes kinda symbolic sense though when you figure a Heart is what pumps Blood and directs it where to go, beating steadily on without much regard for the Blood itself.

not that Heart players are always self centered nor Blood players complete doormats, but when put together specifically I can see them both just naturally falling into those roles they are so used to.
