Hello! I was just reading the dashcon tag & saw what you had about the press release. I wanted to add as an fyi that the excuse about their phones is BS. Esp in Schaumburg. Where I live-which is in Idaho-we have a con that gets 3-4k ppl & we don't break towers. Towers are built to handle high traffic (after 9/11 it became a priority). Not to mention different carriers, so no one tower would have all the traffic. This seems small, but it's a lie to excuse them out of not taking/noticing any calls
I think a lot of what they did was:
Finding excuses
Throwing blame so that it seems like it's out of their control and totally not their fault
Apologizing just for the sake of being gracious. I'm sorry, but the moment you start blaming others your apologies feels cheap to me :\ ("It's not our fault but we're sorry")
Not addressing the fact that their staff and part of their committee are spreading negative information about WTNV to protect themselves (or maybe that person is removed from their company as well? We may never know, but the damage is done)
Since the biggest blunder of this con is caused by the lack of communication and the abundance of miscommunication I'm not surprised that they blame it on the telephone company. Thank you for confirming that even that excuse doesn't stand. :)
