These Screenshots were taken from a Video that was posted and had gone viral recently about the Panguil Bay Bridge. If you haven’t seen it yet, then here it is, I will post the Link to the Video below. The Bridge is very new, it started construction in 2020 under the Administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte, but was opened to the Public only in September 2024 under this new Administration of Bong Bong Marcos (BBM).
As we can see, despite the Fact that the Bridge is only less than three Months old, the Asphalt Overlay has already eroded, it looks like it was very thin in the first Place. This is likely an Indication of some corruption that had taken Place recently that resulted in the Contractor taking Shortcuts with the Overlay after paying off some Politicians and Others.
A very bad Start, and a very bad Example for the Type of Infrastructure Projects that we can expect from this current BBM Administration. I expect this Problem to be quickly fixed now that it has gone viral, but we are likely to see more of these Types of Issues in the near Future.
