mothers name was narcissa, named cy. the nursemaid was there when narcissa named them and thus knows their names. she got cy out and checked in on them occasionally which is why they know their name. she told princess her real name before she was executed and also that she had a twin her father ordered executed at birth bc he was cursed. didn't say how he was cursed tho, maybe implied it was visually noticible

nanny gave cypress to an older couple who died when he was in his teens. they loved him a lot and were great. encouraged him to do music bc it made him happy. they were poor and cy got into petty theft to try to help provide when busking wasn't enough. maybe one of them was long-term sick and they couldn't afford medicine

ultimately was homeless for a bit but got pretty good at barding and stealing when needed. a traveling bard took them as an apprentice when adopted parents died

i think that would be around mid-teens, and then the king finds out about them when the twins are 18/19

im thinking king got progressively worse and was very anti non-humans and had the nursemaid/nanny killed bc [he somehow finds out she didn't have cy killed like he ordered. this is when princess runs away. she still doesn't know cy is her brother, but maybe has figured out she had a twin.

cypress has no idea why hes getting assassination attempts. runs. princess stows away on the ship cy [legally but only barely] takes to get away from whoever the king sent to have him killed. the ship is attacked by pirates.

popple and cy take down the pirate captain who the rest of the pirates were already planning on killing soon [princess does most of the work] and they're like hell yeah do yall wanna join? he was doing some shitty things and we wanna be Good Pirates and only rob rich assholes, cy and princess are like Hell Yeah

their antlers mach their eyes and the vest shirt thing is probably white

also has gold bangles on the antlers. very shiny for a rogue

princess has been in disguise as a man so she's not recognized and this triggers a gender crisis

selecra slightly greyer, eyes greener than normal humans etc,

slightly pointed teeth (i like to think tief can regrow teeth like sharks, and that pop's teeth had been filed down. he lost two in the initial pirate fight and they grow back sharper. she much later has a slight breakdown or smth which entails him. forcibly regrowing all his teeth),

the hair is white bc tief,

the antlers start growing in without him filing them,

has the same white freckles as cy, less noticible bc Also White. Slightly paler than this. not to the point of albino but like. alice in alice in wonderland live action

he has long hair he wears mostly in a long braid
