to have loved and lost / @asryr .
i hate it here. i hate it here. i hate it here. a thousand years old and you want to lay on the ground like a child. rage simmering in your gut. you are long past the age for tantrums, though if klaus is anything to go off of, there is no real age limit on that. you slam both hands into what was once a desk and is now to pieces of cracked wood falling to the ground and breaking into smaller pieces.
loss is an enemy in which there is no real beating. the biggest killers of immortals after all. stakes and depression in equal measure. you launch a piece of shattering wood into the wall and it practically crumbles with the force of you. eyes glow and fangs protrude, veins appearing at the temples. you turn to other inhabitant of the room. all sorts of feelings bubbling in your guts.
❝ death is a stupid fucking concept. what’s the point of rituals and magic if it has limits. what’s the point if people are long gone. what’s the point of this? ❞
the unspoken, what is the point of us? what is the point of me? hangs heavy and emotional in the air. this is stupid. daggered and magicless you have been without your skills or your companions. your entire fucking sire line. since you have come back and there is none of them and maybe it is stupid to feel compassion for them. you know that klaus does not. you know that the rest of your siblings do no mull over the choice of who and why to turn people most of the time. why does it matter so much to you?
𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐚 𝐠𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐥, 𝘢 𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘧𝘪𝘨𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘱𝘢𝘴𝘵, a sliver of what once was but can no longer be– however instead of a craven heart lingering in the land of the living long past it’s due, the boy before her is very much alive. henry. it’s his new name, the name this life had given him and so eerily similar to his first one, but is the old which is called that garners his attention. head perking up from where it was slouched over the led screen of a backlit phone, as eyes connect with those which brings back a single sentence: i will always be there to protect you.
“ h.... hello? “
@asryr liked for a random / generic reincarnation starter !!!
ASTRYR ( @asryr ) SAID : that’s nice. real mature of you.
PROMPTS FOR CONFRONTATIONS & ARGUMENTS
“Oh please. Want mature? Call Elijah. Or Freya. Or – honestly, any of our siblings would be a safer bet than yours truly. And yet, here you are.” Leah shrugs, without a care in the world. Their family does bring the brat out of her; she grew up when away from them, learned to fend for herself for once, but she’s back to her old ways now that they’re hovering again. Ah, the dangers of having too many big siblings!
Not that Ash is a poster girl for responsible herself. Or that much older than her, for that matter.
“But fine. I’ll give you my best impression.” Leah stands up straighter, one hand landing on her hip as the other flays around dramatically. Chin raises, voice drops, face twists in mock disgust. She clears her throat. “CHILDREN PLEASE! Cease this nonsense immediately or I will be force to send you to bed early; and do not, for a second, think you'll be getting dessert after dinner today."
ASTRYR ( @asryr ) SAID : ❛ people like us don’t get to decide when we’re done. ❜
&. 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝, 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬.
Her fury could bring this entire city down to its knees – her grip on her magic is usually iron, but right now it’s clawing to get out, tempting her to just let it out. Let it go. She tempers it, swallows it down until her throat burns, because her anger is not with Astryr and she’d rather hurt herself than her sister. “I feel done,” Freya admits, quietly, with no small amount of shame. It feels like giving up. It feels like failure. She runs her fingers through her hair, presses her palms to her temples. “I know I asked for this – “ Begged for. Dreamed of. Fought for. Killed for. And now she has it but it is far from what she imagined it would be ( she thought family would ease her pain, fix everything that is wrong with her, but she is still hurting ). “How do you deal with this? With him. Can he not see I am trying?” She tosses the grimoire across the room; right now, it’s about as useless as she is anyway.
@asryr asked: "I've been a prime suspect in over thirty murder cases." for paige?
The pen that had been taking notes came to a pause as Paige allowed herself to process this fact. Just let it sit. Process, okay, now time for questions. She laid the pen down and tilted her head as she looked at Astryr. “Are these currently ACTIVE cases, or over a span of time?” There’s also the question of did she do it?
@asryr asked: "Keep your secrets if you must, but do not believe you can lie to me." for lucas?
“Then I shall do us both a favour and not even bother.” That’s the problem when lying has been your number one defense mechanism for the majority of your life; the lies leave your mouth before you even think. It takes more effort to not lie than it does to lie. Lucas has been slowly unlearning this habit, but clearly he has quite a ways to go ( well, it’s not like he can stop lying entirely, he is a lawyer after all - and a supernatural one at that - but perhaps less lies in his personal life would be good).”And perhaps we should just cut to the chase, Miss-?”
@asryr asked: "Do you have any immediate plans to tell me the truth, or is this one of those times where I'm going to have to piece it together from the odds and ends you accidentally let slip?" for elijah if ur feeling up to writing him <3
“Well, I was considering explaining everything to you in full detail,” he doesn’t look up at her, but he does flick the page of the book he was looking through, “but now I’m more interested in seeing how much you can piece together from those ‘odds and ends’. I choose that option. Have fun.”
