oh buddy strange to say this really warmed my heart. divorce is Rough (understatement of all time). it's like... mortifying to admit to everyone you know that you beefed it on your choice of life partner, but the STRENGTH and COURAGE and FORTITUDE it takes to want and take a better life for yourself is so impressive

at my older brother's rehearsal dinner i sat with a bunch of my new SIL's friends. two of them had just gotten married, so they asked if i was married. i said 😁😁😁 actually my divorce was just finalized yesterday! they were mortified like oh god i'm sorry and i said no you don't understand i'm overjoyed

which like. the day after i told my husband it was over, i cried on and off all day. even though he treated me poorly, i felt an overwhelming guilt at being the one to finally say enough is enough. and i mourned the life we'd had (most of all i still mourn that HOUSE lol... imagine having a mortgage with a 3.5% interest rate 😭). all this to say, you will also go from a very low low to a very high high. i believe this for you 🩷
