“Why are you looking at me like that?”
It came out as a snarl, harsher than intended. Sorsha’s eyes narrowed at Talon. She knew she shouldn’t be so rough with him–he’d done nothing to deserve her ire–and yet she couldn’t stop herself. She was furious.
She hated that she’d let herself get so hurt, to be so vulnerable. Worse yet, having Talon look at her like that made her want to scream.
It had been over a year since they’d last seen each other after Sorsha had abandoned the Inquisition to go her own way for a time. Unfortunately, the journey had not been a gentle one, and now Talon of all people had to see how she had changed.
So it was here the Qunari found herself; bloodied, bruised, limping, and all but collapsed at the other’s feet. She kept her eyes averted, hot shame filling her cheeks. This was her punishment for going alone, for abandoning them all for some selfish goal that she didn’t even get to see through.
Why did she have to be so weak?

My Opinion on;
Character in general: One of my favourite muses to play with, Talon has always been inspiring to me especially in the manner Trip writes him. His struggles and pain are brought to life and feel truly genuine thanks to Trip’s writing. I honestly can’t say I have felt the same connection with other muses that I do with Talon.
Talon has, and will always, continue to be one of my favourite OCs to roleplay with as well as one of my favourite characters in general. His interactions with Sorsha make me feel like I’ve had an epiphany every single time. It’s hard to explain but honestly even just the way they communicate nonverbally hits me so hard. I can’t say there’s been another muse that’s had the same impact on me and Sorsha.
How they play them: He’s an OC so perfectly!
The Mun: I love Trip!!!! We became such good friends when I first met them yeaaars ago. It makes me so happy that they still want to talk to me even though I disappeared for a year. I think you were my very first really good online friend.
It’s not really related, but I honestly think that you were what gave me the courage to actually go and talk to people online and become more social. Your impact on me has been so significant. I mean, if I didn’t start feeling brave enough to message you first, I wouldn’t have met my now bf. That seems weird I know but honestly, because you started talking to me and making me feel cared about during a very vulnerable and difficult time in my life, I don’t think I would be where I am today.

Overall Opinion: I love both the mun and the muse. It’s hard to keep this short and concise when I just have so much to say. I worry that I’ve just been rambling nonsensically this whole time because I just have so many thoughts. ass--sass--sin will always be one of my very favourites. Do yourself a favour and follow them!

Did you have any characters in mind when coming up with your ocs?

Not really. I think I mentioned this before but Hawke, Nev (my HOF), Daeris, and Arsine all started as one character that I would just insert into every rpg fantasy game I played. When I started roleplay, I came up with all these verses for that character so I could play her in those different worlds, but eventually the verses developed and they grew into their own characters with different personalities and backstories. That’s why there are some noticeable similarities among them; they used to all be the same person. For my other ocs that came afterward, I can’t really think of specific characters I tried to base anyone off of. Most of my ocs come from general concepts that intrigue me or bits of lore that spawn ideas; like Kaeri, whose initial incarnation came from a fun quest in ESO that I really liked. Some of them are made to fill voids in a story, and then they develop beyond their role in that story. The way my brain creates characters is kind of like a weird internet name generator where I come up with a concept, a snippet of personality, and the basics of their appearance and then I just run with it.
I really don’t like making ocs based off of canon characters or even just their traits. It doesn’t really feel like they’re truly mine that way, so I kind of limit my process to brainstorming and research rather than trying to mimic traits of other characters or replicate the concept behind a character.. I make my oc and develop them until I have a grip on who they are, and then I make the comparisons to other characters with similar traits and archetypes to see what I’m doing well and what needs improved. There’s nothing wrong with being inspired by existing characters (especially the ones that are written so very well) but I find it hard to connect with my own characters if I focus on how they compare to their inspirations rather than how they fit into their own stories.
hc + retirement
James never wanted to retire, and definitely not before he was in his 70′s. The diagnosis changed that. Being told he only had a few years left pushed his retirement forward out of necessity rather than want. He wasn’t happy about it but he knew it was for the best.
He spent the 4 years after his retirement with his wife, travelling, holding parties and generally trying to have as much fun as he could squeeze in while he still could.
