"You don't need guns! The government has tanks and drones anyway!"
Alright, then why should you care? If you're so absolutely certain that the government has both the right and the ability to crush any sort of armed dissent, then what do you care about how those doomed bastards arm themselves? Sure, maybe they'll kill a handful more federal troops than they might have before, but in the end, after the last odd atrocity is committed and the president makes a nice speech about how the government will never let such an awful thing happen again, those "gun nuts" you're so afraid of will still be dead. So you shouldn't worry about an "assault weapons ban", because even if all the tea-partiers and conservatards in the country had access to a baby-killing AR-15 machine gun it wouldn't make a lick of difference in the face of the almighty United States government.
