This turned out creepier than I anticipated. The carousel part actually spins around and its circuit bent too, but I’m not entirely digging the outcome. Perhaps it will grow on me with time? It was supposed to be art brut inspired, not scary lol. I might end up giving it away or selling it. I’m not too sure yet

This all began with the piece of jigsaw puzzle found lying in a parking lot. All the other elements were added to the composition from my "bits'n'pieces" drawer — including the frame which someone else had discarded. All these elements were modified or trimmed 'found-objects' for other compositions but were rejected and tossed in the drawer. In other words, everything in the design except the puzzle piece is twice recycled.

Reimagined Scrap Metal Sculptures - by John Lopez
John Lopez, a successful artist residing in South Dakota, creates unbelievable sculptures from scrap metal. Pieces of old farm machinery and equipment, musical instruments, chains and many other old metal objects found their way into Lopez’s huge rusty Western-themed animal sculptures, which include life-sized buffaloes and horses.
“My favorite part about these pieces is the texture,” explains Lopez. “I just start grabbin’ stuff from the pile and welding it, and if you weld enough of the same thing on over and over it creates this really cool texture that I’ve never seen in these kinds of pieces before. And I think that’s what draws people in.”
