In this article, written by John Lehmann, estimates how the aesthetics of Sydney will look like by 2050. The article is based around the images produced by architectural firms for Urban Taskforce Australia, this article emphasizes over the domineering effect it has had over the Australian society. The usefulness of this article formed the salient of the poster, which is the high rise building behind the babies. With composition the buildings were based on highest building in Sydney, this article addresses the importance on the buildings and the need for further construction of it in the CB. The research in this article was in depth and showed me a great deal to importance that these building have in forming a national identity of Australia. Overall, this article formed a supporting part of my research into composing this poster and led to other research of the tallest buildings in Sydney to be used in the poster.

In this news article written by Jess Cartner-Morley, the author reviews the fashion label since its developments with Frida Giannini, she summaries her career and the influence that she has had with the company, with the upcoming museum based on Gucci fashion about to open. The article uses statistics to emphasize the power Guccci has had on its market audience "profits have risen around 25% to an estimated £660m". The information presented shows how the Gucci brand has evolved and its effect on buyers. The limitations of the information in the article is the scope of how the company sees itself and not how society sees it as well, subjective in a way and not broadly realizing its influence over the world, considering how its a first world brand and the majority of the world is second to third world. The use of this article is partial since the poster required a high rise building with an influential fashion logo, and considering how Gucci is one of the biggest names in the fashion industry, it was suitable to include it as one of the buildings in the poster.

Question 5 of the assessment asks “How can culture be used to generate community, and conversely, be used to exclude or marginalise people? To what extent are aesthetic judgement individual or learnt behaviours?”. In the article, Eliza Martinez explores how children growing up manifests their traits based on their environment and to what extent do people base their aesthetic judgement on their learnt behaviour. The author uses a variety of sources to support her argument that judgements are learnt behaviour, such as “Southern Methodist University” and “World Health Organization”. Her research provides information that with different socioeconomic status the difference in aesthetic judgment is great since high class families have access to everything whereas lower class don’t, thus “interfere negatively with the development” of the child. In the poster, the idea of babies - was how they become influence by the tall buildings. Tall buildings seen in the Sydney CBD, thus high class, compared to Stewie on the right who seems to deny that conformity. This article formed the primary basis of the project as to how i personally felt towards the question that - yes, aesthetic judgement is a form of our learnt behaviour stemming from own cultural background coming from all sorts of economic classes.

In this blog post, the author reviews the fashion trends from the 19th century to the 20th century, showing how hipster fashion has changed over the years. With reference to celebrities such as the Olsen twins and Sienna Miller, along with fashion "Boho chick", the author evaluates how by rejecting mainstream trends, the process of rejection itself is mainstream. In other words the process of being unique is unique itself. The blogs' ability to inform the reader that the mainstream is a powerful tool in shaping our society is vast, from how we view what we wear to work or in public is strongly influence by the mainstream. This blog post is important to my process of creating the poster because it showed me that by having full knowledge of what the mainstream can do, we as the audience can reject it, and that inevitability itself is mainstream. This "rejecting of mainstream" is represented as Stewie Griffin in my poster who is known for his rebellious nature, rebels against conformity among st the babies who slowly pronounces the brands. The limitations of the blog post was that it's scope did not branch out to the psychological effects of the mainstream. This blog was a supporting foundation for my research and it is shown through Stewie Griffin in the poster.
