aglaia managed to score two days off in a row, and she would be damned if she was going to waste them. she was especially thankful for the acquaintance that stashed her car during her time . . . away considering she was able to avoid the cab fare of an hour long trip from bed-stuy to coney island. tucked in nicely under umbrella’d seating, aggie had her flip flops sitting next to her. the ground felt nice, and aglaia was just close enough to the beach to enjoy a gentle breeze. she spent her time observing the sparse crowds while the low rumble of both the patrons and the infamous cyclone rollercoaster vibrated in her ears. her observations led her to a small, almost unnoticeable kiosk-like establishment that advertised both beer and funnel cakes. smart idea for a business, she thought to herself.
slipping on her flip flops, aggie rose to her feet. a couple steps proved that there was just enough sand present on the ground to kick up and nestle comfortably ( or rather, uncomfortably for her ) in between her toes. the line didn’t trail back too far, so aglaia didn’t foresee a long wait ahead of her, thankfully. taking her place at the back of the line, aglaia contemplated their three beer selection when she realized funnel cake didn’t even sound that good. then, she had an idea. directing her offer to the person in front of her, whose face was obscured, she chimed, “ i’m pretty confident in my ability to finish a beer, but the funnel cake might be an issue. wanna split ? my treat. ”
