I have a love hate relationship with Gamzee honkhonk Makara. I hate him he’s so awful he’s done awful things he’s awful, but he’S SO GOOD??? I spent a good month scared shitless of him, and that’s always a good sign. So yeah, he interests me a lot and I love having Terezi interact with him because I’m still interested in how their relationship ended up so badly.

That said, I’ve seen nearly all of her movie/tv show appearances, and I have some minor knowledge of her Injustice canon point, as well as a fair amount of knowledge about her No Man’s Land appearance (as I should, considering that’s her canon point).
Okay, on to the second part of your question!
I haven’t seen the issue where someone hits Harley, but I’m assuming that you mean someone other than the Joker. This is where it’s gonna get long.
Harley has taken a lot of abuse throughout her life. Her father spent her whole life in and out of prison, and her mother was always super hard on Harley, being the oldest. Nothing Harley ever did was good enough for her mother, and I believe she took out her anger towards Harley’s father on Harley. I imagine she was in a few abusive relationships throughout her high school years, considering she was known as being uh… promiscuous to get her way.
TL;DR, Harley is no stranger to abuse, so she’s kind of used to it by the time she reaches adulthood.
When she meets the Joker, she realizes that she is strong and valuable, and there’s someone out there who can appreciate her for who she is. It’s this point in her life where she decides she won’t let just anyone push her around anymore. Eventually, she decides that not even the Joker gets that right and she becomes not independent, but strong, and confident in herself.
Final TL;DR, I’m pretty sure anyone who tried to hit Harley would end up severely injured or dead. Whether they were a hero, villain, civilian, man, woman, or alien. The only people Harley ‘goes easy on’ are The Joker, and Poison Ivy. (Deadshot too, but he’s kind of a special case because she’s in a strange place with the Joker locked up.) It’s not exactly a healthy reaction, but it makes sense considering she’s violent, apathetic towards death and injury, and no doubt has some bad memories surrounding personal injury.
I didn’t read the issue, but if Harley acted in any way other than yelling at the guy who hit her, hurting him, or killing him, it was entirely out of character and 100% garbage 0/10 should read it.
