there could be little denying the EXHAUSTION written into fuller’s every inch as he stepped into the visitation room —— but then, with the stress of being a former fbi agent not only locked up with dozens of people who wanted to kill him for not only existing, but also preparing for a trial he KNEW he had no chance of winning, maybe it wasn’t surprising.

his mood lifted just slightly though, when he realized it was lillianna waiting for him instead of a lawyer prepared with yet another half-baked and entirely too optimistic angle for the trial. settling in the chair across from her, he looked her over, trying quickly to read her stance. he hadn’t seen her since he’d been arrested, and questions were swirling in his mind faster than he could account for them. he wanted to know if they’d gotten anything on her, if his mistake might cost her her freedom as well as his own, he wanted to know if she was angry at him for his slip up, and how she was taking it if she somehow wasn’t.

he also wanted to know about dylan. no one had answered that question for him, if the meager information they’d found on his phone had been enough for them to find him and his horsemen, and that thought had been twisting in his gut more than his own prospects of freedom. he was more than conscious, however, of the guards watching and listening to his every move, so instead he drew his lips up in a thin smile.

FIVE. do you listen to music while your write?

not to be that guy who doesn’t actually answer the question, it honestly depends. sometimes, if i’m listening to something or have any background noise it will distract the living hell out of me until it’s been four hours and i’ve written like two words, other times it’s the only way i can write at all. that said, i do have playlists for each and every one of my muses (and most of my ships), and more often or not, at least one of them is playing when i do replies.

NINETEEN. how many drafts is a paralyzing amount?

here’s the part where i sound kinda pathetic because i genuinely? start getting stressed when i have more than about five. once i hit the ten mark i’m panicking. i. don’t know why i’m this way, and honestly the most respect towards those of ya’ll who can have like 20+ drafts and still be functional people because honestly the thought of that is terrifying. this is all made worse by the fact that i want all the threads and memes and then i have them in my drafts to do and oh.

👀 + jack

for every sign of a hero complex matt has shown, there is a precedent by jack garrett. matt utilises common sense more than his former team leader, but for every instance of putting his gun away when approaching an unstable unsub or leaving his vest behind, i guarantee there’s an irt casefile where it reads ( ...or should read ) that jack garrett has done the same.

due to the fact that jack pretty much picked matt almost as soon as matt walked into quantico, matt looks up to jack a lot in general. it used to be a regular mentor-mentoree relationship, but the way jack runs the team made it... very close to impossible for it to remain that way. i could talk about how this familiar-and-friendly-yet-superior-and-mentor was pretty much the perfect practice for working under prentiss but this is a jack post.

there’s an unwritten rule that when it’s them two in the quarters, jack sleeps at the bottom bunk. neither of them realised it’s become a Thing until matt was getting ready to sleep just as jack walked in and matt, without questioning why he’s doing it, moved everything to the top bunk.

👀 + the irt as a whole

any return flight over the length of six hours equals movie time. because the field team have very varying tastes in films, they’re’s little predicting what genre or even what decade the film of the day is going to be and to keep things fair, they use random selection to determine who’s picking it so there’s no confusion over whose turn it is. matt has seen star wars episodes four through six this way, clara remembers more fast and furious lines than she’d care to admit, and jack’s view on what is considered ‘classics’ is more or less why they are all bound to get the most niché question in a movie trivia right.

there’s been more than one case after which they’ve all just... lied down on the couch with the intent of getting up in a minute to move to the sleeping quarters, and then just fallen asleep in one big pile.

the version that the fbi hears about the case more often than not doesn’t match the actual events that went down. due to an abundance of reasons, including the distance that makes the moral objections quiet down and differences in protocol in the destination countries, breaking recommendation, rules, and guidelines is almost encouraged for as long as it’s reasonable and doesn’t put any of the victims or the locals in harm’s way---so they’ve done a lot of it. adjusting out of this pattern was one of the few things when moving to the bau matt had to actively work on.
