Hello and Welcome~
This is a rp blog for mine (Paru, aka @who-did-you-kill-to-get-this-url) and @12yo ’s fictional universe, the Monoverse. People in the Monoverse aren’t quite that different from us, apart from one significant little detail: their eye color. In the Monoverse, things are, quite literally, seen as black and white, monochrome, hence the name. You’re either born as a Light with stark white eyes or as a Dark with pitch black ones. A whole society divided into two castes, Light and Dark, Good and Bad. Your eye color is basically determined by the color of your “soul”, just like in the popular saying “the eyes are the window to the soul.” The Monoverse takes this concept to a whole new level however. All of your actions, thoughts and opinions influence your eye color, making you either to a Light, an altruistic, logical and calm person, or a Dark, reckless, charming and impulsive. Combining these sounds perfect, doesn’t it? Like everything else too, the soul and personality should be balanced. However, there’s one small hurdle: your eyes start clouding or are already grey? Shunned. Associating with Lights as a Dark? Cast out. The shunned Paria live a life even worse than the lowest worker classes in the two castes. Nothing of the former glory of the Monoverse is left, it’s no beautiful, peaceful world. Life standards are atrocious, the lower the caste, the empires more and more like totalitarian regimes, instead of the glorious monarchies they were before. The millennia old rivalries, prejudice fueled hate and differences between Light and Dark have lead to a vicious war, that’s been going on for years with no end in sight, dividing the whole world into two opposed empires and successfully corrupting it. Enter Asterion, ruler of Dark, and Raj, leader of Light.
Two men, who, against all odds, come to understand each other and the flaws in the system and social norms, the whole world they’re living in, through the help of a lowly errand boy, the paria Dimitrij Avdonin. Dimitrij, although not the only one with clouded eyes, still has a very unique feature: he’s heterochromatic, has one black and one white eye, allowing him to enter both Dark and Light territory in the midst of a cruel war, when he hides one eye with an eyepatch.
With Dimitrij as messenger starts the compicated and dangerous process of uniting a torn world again and overcoming prejudice to live and coexist next to each other, once more, if this should even prove to be possible.
